I really need email marketing advice! please help warriors!

I have a list of 650 subscribers so far - my follow ups are already set up, providing them with a lot of valuable information with ONE (just 1) affiliate link at the bottom in each follow up.

So far I have only made one sale, thanks to these follow ups. They seem to like them - only around 30 - 40 unsubscribes so far.

I haven't sent a Solo Ad yet (promoted a product), it's been almost one month (3weeks) since I started building this list.

Now my big question is; When should I send my first Ad?

AND How often should I send one?

Also; how you can I average to make off of a 650+ subscribers list?

If you can help me with this!

I will appreciate it so much!

Thanks!

I personally send out 1-2 a week on average.

I have two different lists though, one gets a promotion 1-2 a week;the other gets one a fortnight.

But not just of any old crap, of actual stuff I have bought and know will help my subscribers.

To find out what is best for you, you are going to need to do a lot of testing, not everybody is the same.

Nobody can come in here and tell you X amounts of promotions a week will be most profitable, because they don't know exactly how your list responds. By the sound of things, neither do you.

So you are going to need to do a whole lot of testing before you can actually be sure of anything.

I am on the receiving end on many of these promotional lists myself and personally I do not mind the frequency of the mails as much as I mind the quality of the information I receive. Sometimes, it is just a couple of block letters of "BUY BUY BUY" and an affiliate link! Your copy can be informative and useful and should have the potential to build trust even if the customer does not take the desired action.

My advise to you: Quality not quantity. If you focus on the first then the second one becomes redundant.

Work on 650 subscribers first to ensure that you have good opens and less unsubscribes. Open a new group and all future subscribers should get locked in the new group that you have opened and let it build slowly. Meanwhile work on the already existing 650 subscribers by sending them freebies first and then low value product and then send them a questionnaire. Ask them to fill up the questionnaire. The questions should be concerning them like : Did you like my earlier mails that I had sent ? How often would you like to receive such offers from me ? What kind of mail / offers will delight you and so on ? Also keep a small prize and announce that there is a going to be a lucky prize winner of those who answers the questionnaire fast. Once the lucky prize winner is selected, get a testimonial from him and send that as an attachment to all your 650 subscribers and make it interesting. If such activity takes place, they will start waiting to receive your emails.

I am doing this and I am having 50% plus opens which I think (hope others will agree) is a good one keeping in mind the kind of bombardment of mails every subscriber is upto these days.

Great advice. I definitely don't mind getting an email a couple times a week or possibly three as long as I'm getting some value along with the sales copy.

DOn't wait too long before sending ads to your list.

If you don't send any then they will expect not to see any and will be offended when you do send them.

It's all about expectancy and consistency , make sure your list knows what to expect by being on your list , and then make sure you keep doing that.

    Correct RnGWriter;

Quality is king here, I also have maybe 20 - 25 lists that I get emails from and I instantly unsubscribe from lists that I just get crap from...

Send out quality content, give away good stauff and they will probably stick with you and maybe even buy from you

On average, 1 subscriber should make you around $1 a month.

I believe you can start sending ads "mixed in" with valuable contents. If the product you are promoting can help your subscribers solve their problems, I am sure they are very happy to buy from you.

Email marketing is not about "pure content" or "pure ad". You can have a good content and talk about how the product you promote can help them reach their goals in the same email..

    So you can have both.....

Make sure what you send to your subscribers is high quality stuff. Both free and paid
stuff must be beneficial stuff and providing great value to your subscribers. Think about
what your subscribers want, then find and send them that. You seem to be doing this
well with your free content, so apply it to paid products and give them what they want.

Hey freddy I got into listbuiliding a few months ago and managed to build up a list of 1300+ i never made any sales with this list as these subscribers were achieved by using a squeeze page offering a free product. Im guessing your list was also achieved from either free gift squeeze page or free giveaway events. 650 is a great number to have but if you got them 'all on board' from free offers, thus having a list of 'freebie seekers' like me then you may find it hard to get sales.

To help you with this list a system i have been trying recently is sending out an automatic blog broadcast to my blog that i update every week. What this allows me to do is connect with my subscribers, I havent tested an offer with this yet, but my blog traffic has definitely increased from aweber.

Other than that, the next best thing you can do is start building a list of customers, existing customers are more likely to buy over and over.

      This is the bottom line.

If you promised them "free content", they'll expect free content.

If you promised them "valuable content", make sure that you are sending them content, including relevant product offers, that will help them achieve whatever they signed up for your list to achieve.

My wife was watching one of those small-claims court shows, and I overheard a line I'm going to borrow and adapt.

"Call 800-xxx-xxxx to give your opinion on this case and hear some valuable offers."

Whether or not those offers truly are valuable is up to each individual. Your responsibility is to only send offers that you believe add value. If you start sending crap just to send something and your only objective is skimming a few sales, expect to churn your list - at least the part that actually notices that you are still sending emails.

Put another way, when it comes to sending offers, your job is to hand-pick the offers and make your subscribers aware of them. It's their job to decide whether or not to take the offers.

1 sale out of 650 subscribers? Am i reading that correctly? What kind of niche are you in and what kind of product are you selling? I think your sales ratio should be much higher.

How do you build a list of customers from your existing list? Can Aweber do that? Do you have to do it manually?

Thanks. I really appreciate it if fellow warriors can help me.

Your goal is to keep the existing list wanting more of what you provide, by giving them Quality content.

You must utilize list building strategies to bring in more followers.

What you have to do is to program your subscribers to know that they will receive offers from you time to time. You have your first set of follow up emails to give them this impression. Otherwise, if you wait down the line your open rates will decrease and thus it will be harder to convince them to buy regardless of how good the offer is.

So make sure you introduce yourself to your subscribers on the first email and let them know that you are here to help them and in so doing you'll recommend products that will help them. Some of which they will have to buy ofcourse!

The concept is that of building TRUST. I am sure if someone out the street recommend a product to you, you would be hesitant to buy. On the other hand, if a friend or family member recommend that same product you would buy without even second guessing. That's the relationship you want to develop with your subscribers.

There are several models that I've personally witnessed to be very successful.

    Some marketers swap everyday.

Some marketers swap once a week.

It doesn't matter as much as you think; each model has its pros and cons and I could argue for either avenue.

One things for certain, when you do promote something, don't just promote it at the footer of the e-mail. Be more aggressive.

Join some e-mail marketing lists of popular marketers and personally observe what they do.

Learn from those who have the greatest level of success.

Never stop learning; obtain knowledge from those who are currently successful with their e-mail marketing lists; because.. knowledge, used wisely, is the most powerful of tools.
