Question about driving traffic...

Is it possible to get traffic up to 1000 visits a day with article marketing, SEO, etc, or do I need to get into PPC to get traffic for a new site to this level. Also, for business plan purposes, is 2% a realistic target conversion for a membership site (a popular hobby outside of IM) under $20 per month?

Thanks for your help!
John

    Hi John,

    PPC would definitely be faster.

The more articles you have out there with a pulling headline the more readers you will attract. If you provide great content then it's likely someone will publish your article on their own site (your resource box still intact), therefore spreading the traffic to you.

I have a website that pulls in over 1000 unique visitors a day and I do almost no PPC. My spending on PPC for January was barely over $30. Also, I don't mass submit articles. I only submit an article every month or two to approximately 10-12 top article directories. Frequently, I don't even change the article when submitting to multiple directories.

If you don't mind my asking, what other promotion do you do? Thanks!

Yes, it is definitely possible, I would suggest working on SEO first, then building backlinks, then PPC.

The difference between organic SEO traffic compared to PPC traffic is huge... it's like comparing apples to oranges... long term/short term. PPC is great for quick boosts of traffic, however true SEO & backlink building is great for long term strategies. Combining both is the way to go.

To get that level of uniques a day will take a good amount of effort.

Organic search results can be you friend for sure - as getting traffic organically is ideal - it just keeps coming.

Learn about those keywords and setting your site up well as this all makes a difference.

It is always possible. You'll just need to plan about traffic because it's just math. Think of many backlinks, videos, press releases and thousands of articles coming to your site.

About the conversion, it will be depend on the product you are promoting because there are so many factors to achieve it. I have one product (review script) that have 8% to 15% conversion rate when I posted it here in the WSO in 2007.
