Is it worthwhile to use safelists if you don't have your own list?

Hi all,

As yet, I haven't got many subscribers to my opt in on my site, so I've been using a paid safelist.

The problem is I send out emails to all the safelists but I don't see any value from it. Instead I get thousands of safelist emails in return.

I don't know whether to continue paying for this membership.

If you do use safelists how successful are you?
Any recommended safelists to use? If recommending one, please detail how successful you've been with it.
Is paid safelists better than the free ones?
Does anyone recommend any good successful free ones?

Thanks for your input.

    Hi wmakara-

I've tried the safelist route before, more than once, just to see if I could get any value from them. I came away with the same results as you now have.

There may be a "trick" you can use to get some opt-ins, but it seems to me the only people who can capitalize on safe lists are the owners or biz-op list makers.

In my experience, the safelists aren't the magic bullet your after because the people on them are there for the same reason you are: to build their list.

It's better to get down in the dirt with one of the many tried and true list building techniques used by most all of the successful marketers out there. They may not be as easy as a safelist, but then again, what good is "easy" if it doesn't yield you any results?

    Good luck,
    P.A.

I am in the same situation. I am satisfied with Free Safe Lists for the moment. I have to put in extra hours of work to see some results.
