Domain forwarding?

If you're just looking to forward a domain to an affiliate site, should the domain be near what the affiliate product is?

Say the affiliate is "thisproduct.com"

What is be better, "thisproduct.org" or "thisproduct.net" or "this-product.com"

    I would recommend thisproduct.net, as I know .net and .com have the same SEO value. But make sure, the company allows you to use that name in direct competition with their official website. Most companies does not allow that, especially if the product name is a trademark.

    As affiliateg said, using the product name as is may lead to some problems. However, if you are a turning in profit for the vendor, generally they do not have a problem with things like these. That said, you best bet is to check with the vendor and have them email you or provide you a written permission with you using their (possibly trademarked) product name in your domain.

      It would be a mistake to do this without permission.

      If the name isn't trademarked, permission will very often be given, and a problem avoided. If it isn't given, you can be pretty sure that a potentially big problem's been avoided. It's a win/win.
