The basics of affiliate lists

I am just going to summarize what I think the basics of affiliate lists are, and I would like to be corrected if I am misunderstanding something

1. You make a squeeze page and get people to subscribe to your list
2. You give them free content to keep them interested?
3. You then offer products, either your own, or those through clickbank, to make money

My questions:

What is the best way to get traffic to your squeeze page?

If you are selling someone else's product through clinkbank, I assume you are not allowed to claim it's yours, how do you introduce it?

is it possible to do anything in this business without paypal? I was permanently banned from PayPal for no reason whatsoever, and there is no way to lift the ban.

How do you avoid getting your page banned from google? AFAIK Google bans clear advertising pages from results, or does it not matter?

* * *

I would really like to talk to someone who knows their **** - in return I will give them a cut of my business, I don't care about sharing. Also would reallly appreciate responses here .

There are tons of good ways to get traffic to your squeeze pages. I personally recommend solo ads to drive targeted users to your offer for the fastest results, however, they can get quite costly and you'll always have to re-invest in them.

You can always try SEO and free methods like blogging, forum posting, but those will take time.

What are "solo ads" - I see that term often on here.

Do you mean google ads directed to an individual keyword or something?

    Chris,

Set up a new PayPal account with a new email address.

Solo ads are when someone emails their list for you. They usually give you X amount of guaranteed clicks

As for how to promote someone's click bank product...I'd suggest getting on a couple different lists and see how other people are doing., mimic their tactics.

re: PayPal, when your account gets banned, everything gets banned. i would need a new CC # and bank account at least, which I may have to do. Sigh.

    Hi ChrisKrause

Your mentioned 1,2,3 steps are one way to do it.

Another would be to create your own product or buy a PLR product to give as an ethical bribe to get people to sign up for your list in the first place, then provide more value & promote to them once you have built a list.

I would suggest you segment your list so that you have a buyers list and a freebie seeker list as the buyers will always be more responsive to your promotions. One way you could do this would be to get them to a squeeze page for a free product, and once they have signed up, give them a OTO (one time offer) to a paid product, this would give you 2 lists, a freebie list & a buyers list.

Obviously, you would want different messaging to go to each list. You would ideally want to educate the freebie list as to why they should buy from you (with value content), whilst with the buyers list, you already know what they want (as they've already purchased a particular product from you), so offer them bigger, better related offers to them.

There are loads of ways to get traffic to your squeeze page, but the best advice I could give you would be to pick 1-2 methods and stick to them until you see tome tangible results.

It seems too many people these days just try something for a while and then hop to the next idea without giving the first a fair shot.

here's a few ideas to get you started: Start a blog & create product reviews, create video reviews/screencasts and upload them to video sharing sites, create articles with links to your blog/squeeze page, Sols Ads, Ad swaps, traffic exchanges, create web 2.0 pages on squido etc, forum posing (but not spamming).

    All the best,

    Tim

I have another question. One way of making money, from what I understand, is making a site solely dedicated to someone else's product from clickbank. What I don't get is, how do you market it? It's not your product, so can you really refer to it as yours on the website? I just don't understand how you are supposed to refer to it, and place it, if it's not yours.

ANother thing is, I have a product in mind. I have a no BS, legit way of losing weight which I used on myself to go from being HUGE to approaching normal weight. Is it profitable to sell it as an ebook or is there another way to exploit that niche?

You may as well document your method and sell as your own product. You should be able to put together something you know is quality since you've done it yourself.
