Pinterest-My thoughts and Advise
Pinterest is the main focus now and some people are making a forture by way of blasting affiliate links, etc into pinterest, but one can do this wisely and make some cash by way of SEO. instead of putting your affiliate links on pin, you can just redirect people to your site and benefit from the traffic. Alternatively, one can just set up a website /blogger etc with adsense on it,pin lots of pictures on the blog and then on pinterest and hope that visitors from pinterest click on them .
For amazon marketers, be careful as amazon might soon extend their terms and condition to pinterest. I know they have a zero tolerance on affiliate posting links in blog comments, forum, etc.
Dont forget Pinterest makes money by scanning through every link posted on the site to see if it goes to a retail site with an affiliate program. They have partnered with a firm called SkimLinks, which automatically do the scanning for them.If they find links on that site, they secretly adds an affiliate code that ensures Pinterest make some cash from sales that derive from that link. Pinterest hasnt yet disclosed the practice more openly but that is the code.Mmany bloggers are upset about this practice of pinterest.
My take home today for pinterest users/marketers, dont put your affiliate links on pinterest. Think of ways to harness the traffic from there.
All eyes on pinterest.
Pls note that this is just a thought as I am not an expert in this field
