Competition to make as much money from £100.00

Hey,

My brother and I have entered a competition to make as much money as possible starting from £100.00.

Rules are the usual, such as: no gambling, no scamming, provide receipts (to prove you only spent £100) and so on. No strict rules with regard to how you can make money - use of the internet is fine. Bonus points for ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit.

This is genuinely a real competition, not a hypothetical situation. So, regardless of which idea I use, I'll write a follow up to it in this thread.

I think it would be cool if we all tried this in a mini WF competition? There wouldn't be any prizes of course, other than pride and some nice profit. Could be fun, and the makings of an awesome thread.

Here is my initial thought, though I'm not sure I'm going to use it...

Buy reseller hosting (around £25.00) and sell websites to local businesses. No up-front cost, just ask for £X per month. I was thinking £30/m would be reasonable.

The only issue I see with my suggestion is it's kinda the makings of a business, not a 1 off competition. Of course £30/m for a year is worth more than £30/m for 3 months so you can't really ever finish the competition so to speak.

    Whats the time frame? Make as money money as possible in how much time?

    As you stated...your idea seems to set you up for long-term more than a short-term profit.

    Even if this competition ends up as a business for you, I'm pretty sure you don't mind making that money so easily, almost passively I could say Good luck with it anyway!

    Eduard - This is very true, that'd actually be pretty awesome.

    quadxnet - I'm sorry, missed out that point. I think time frame is 1 month, I will double check this and post back here. Let's say it's 1 month for now anyway.

    The £100 can be used pretty much any way you'd like. I really want to think of a clever way to use the money, not just buy product for X then sell product for 2X.

    I'm going to brainstorm some ideas, i'll bring them here when I'm done.

    I like it. I like it a lot.

    Makes me wish my sister was half as inspired by "business" as I am... she's too "artsy" to try this with.. I doubt my girlfriend would go for it either.. haha.

    Still, that is excellent! Keep us updated. And oh...

    Can you spend your profits earned, or is it just $100 total?

    Eh, that would turn it into a "follow me" thread. They tend to get locked/nuked.

    A novel idea, I'd be down for it. Set it up in this subforum. I'll be honest, I've never read/posted in there so look around first to get a feel on how to set it up. I'd be down to join in though.
