Pinterest seems to have caught on to Peerfly?

Is it just me or has Pinterest put an end to peerfly links???

I am being told "users reported your link as spam" but this can't be the case, as I am getting 1 second after posting the link.

Anyone else having this issue? I'm not posting banner ads...just regular, funny pins of pictures I've edited...the links just so happen to go to peerfly (and they are relevant!)

We do not allow you to post our offers directly on Pinterest. This is considered spam, which is why Pinterest has enabled this restriction.

How come department stores post products with links to their sales pages, why isn't that spam?

If you are driving traffic to your own landing page to generate sales and aren't directly linking to your affiliate link then that would be fine. Directly linking to your affiliate link is considered spam.

I think Pinterest has this enabled after some guy publicly announced he's made a killing on Amazon using Pinterest.

All he did was repinning his pics which contains his Amazon links and he made like thousands of dollars a day with it - with the help of proxies and bots, of course.

How come users think that even if they ill spam they should not be banned or suspended? Soon web will be more strict towards spams and unethical works, its better to focus on quality from now to ensure sustainability.

    • OP, I think you're missing the point.

Peerfly doesn't allow it. It doesn't matter what other kinds of links are posted on Pinterest or by whom; a general rule of thumb doesn't work well, as you've discovered.

I've found Peerfly to be very clear about what's allowed and what's not. FYI.

(And this thread should go in the CPA subforum.)

Virtually everyone the web is sick and tired of spammers rolfing up mass affiliate links on any system they can abuse.

News groups died. People are afraid to use their email addresses. Millions of spam web pages are created every day. People want real participants and comments on their blogs and forums. And social network sites like Pinterest want people who are social networking and sharing useful pictures with their friends.

Might as well go spray paint your affiliate link on other people's cars.

You have to wash your links from Pinterest (Amazon, whatever CPA you are trying to do)

Personally I don't do CPA on Pinterest because they yield poor results. But if you are going to do it, you have to create a .php file under one of your domains that takes the CPA link from pinterest, changes it to your affiliate link

That is conceptually the same as spamming. If it is not forfeit yet, it will.

Why not just use things as intended?

If allowed to place shortcuts on all networks this become a problem. There are a lot of people willing to spamming, this is ending with the new policies of the major sites. Now you must work seriously and position your blog or brand to gain traffic and lead to offers. The spammers have complicated everything and everything is put to damage.
