What do you think of my website?

Hello,

Please check my website: fitnessdietwill (dot) com - Sorry but I am not allowed to post links as I have less than 15 posts here.

Anyways, let me know what you think of it, please. What do you think I can improve? Do you think I have chances popularizing it?

I am aware that it is a simple website but it's my first attempt in Affiliate Marketing; thus, I am not really looking forward to achieving amazing results!

However, it's been 5 days since my website was indexed by the search engines, and I hardly get 3-4 visitors a day. Is that normal? What do I need to do in order to increase my site's popularity? But most importantly, do you think it has the potential to be popular?

Thanks for all your answers and suggestions in advance!

    It looks good.

It's usually quiet in the first few days when you open up a new store. It's the same with a website. Keep at it--improve your site when you can. Sooner or later, the traffic will come.

    Good luck!

    Hi Rado.

I had a quick look at your website and it looks good.

May I suggest you change the header from 'What is on the plate?!' to 'What's on your plate?'

Just a thought. You and others may disagree. It's your decision.

Hey mate, website looks really good but lacks direction. It is a bit hard for me to figure out what you want me to do on the site. I clicked on the products page but found a 404. Maybe try throwing in some links at the end of the articles with a call to action back to your products page. Then maybe try and incorporate an opt-in form and you should be well on your way. Just my opinion

I would agree with that as well.

      The site looks good.

The traffic will come as you keep working at it. Do some article marketing, guest blogging or may want to try the paid route with solo ads etc.

My another suggestion would be to try capture leads through an opt-in form by offering a free report etc. And then set up a sales funnel - may be a 5-email series to promote your main product.

That way, if your visitors do not buy the first time they land on your site.... you can at least hope to capture their emails and build a list to sell both your affiliate product that you are now selling as well as other products in the future.

You should definitely attempt at building a list in that niche through your site.

      Just my humble thoughts.

      Nice site, again.

The website looks nice, but I had no idea what the site was for at first - I didn't know if it was an ecommerce site or what. After a few seconds (normally I would've left this website by now but I wanted to give it more time to give some helpful feedback) and scrolling all the way down and back up, I finally figured out it's an information site.

I think you need to make it obvious to your visitors what your site is about - just my .02.

What have you done to get traffic to your site? Is it SEO only? If so I would think that your handful of visitors is probably you on your own site. It will take at least a couple of weeks to get ranked even for low popularity keywords.

As for the site I think it looks nice. I think the header is a bit to big though. Where did you get the images from?

Hi all! Let me first thank you for all your opinions and suggestions.

Jim and Trevor M, Thank you for your positive comments. It means a lot to me.

Vickybabe, Thank your for your opinion. My main aim is to be useful to the readers, and offer them a lot of useful information for healthy living. However, I am also going to sell a couple of products so that I can earn out of commissions. I haven't completed the reviews of all products; that's why you see the error message when you click on "Products".
irdominguez, Thank you so much for your helpful comment. So how do you suggest that I make the website's goal clear (its major goal is to provide useful information but sell some products such as food supplements and training programs as well).

neilward, Thank you for your advice. Basically, I've tried to get backlinks by Submitting to Directories such as Ezine and GoArticles. What more do you think I can do? So I have to wait for a couple of months until I actually start to get actual visitors?

Again, THANKS to all of you. Anyway, I am still open to receiving more opinions and tips. I find them more helpful than you can imagine

As far as the look/layout of the site....

    1. I would organize the homepage so that gives someone a little more direction... It doesn't really tell a visitor what the site is about or what to do once they are there.

    2. I would darken the text a little bit. It's just a personal preference, but it kinda blends into the background a too much and makes reading a full article difficult.

    3. I would change the links on your images. Currently, they are clickable but they only take you to a page that has the image on it. There are a lot of different things that you could link to - internal linking, links to affiliate products, etc.

    4. It seems like most of your content lacks a conclusion... try adding at least a generic CTA. Once you get done reading the content, it just leaves you hanging... not even a recap. Most people only read the first and last paragraph - they tend to skim the rest.

As far as traffic is concerned - I wouldn't worry about it as long as it keeps growing. Every website starts out with only a few visitors per day when you rely primarily on organic traffic.

What I have found is that very recently it is difficult to get a site ranked within Google etc. within the first month or so. So a few more options for you.

Stumbleupon and reddit seem to give some decent results. Plus give you a backlink.

Join a forum which is in a related field. Check the posts to see if anyone is leaving links to their sites. A signiture link is pretty good because then every single time you post you get a link. Also people will click and go straight through from the link. If it isn't in the signiture then you will have to find a good reason to leave a link. Be a little wary of the links being nofollow as although they are still useful as people may click on them they are not useful for providing you an inbound link.

I personally think that getting traffic to your site is by far the most difficult thing to do and if you really want to succeed then it is something you need to know. Another option is Google adwords. where you pay to get visitors to your site. I have done this before just to get an idea of how a site is performs on page and if people click on the links and how much time they spend on the site.

Last piece of advice if you haven't already get on google analytics and Google webmaster tools. Google analytics will give you some great info on how your visitors are finding your site which should then tell you what you need to concentrate on to get more visitors. Google webmaster tools will tell you how many impressions and click throughs your site gets, lets you submit a sitemap, shows you how many pages are indexed and also things such as keyword density.

3-4 visitors barrier will take time to be hurdled. keep building backlinks as soon as you implemented some of the design suggestions mentioned here. traffic will come sooner than you think.

The site looks nice under the fold. Some have said it lacks direction which is true. This is a great chance to change some little things like the text in the header. It looks as though you've compressed a jpeg image. It seems to lack quality. It could just be the text though. Also might want to get some calls to action on there somewhere. If you can pull in some traffic you should be able to get some good testing, giving away free health ebooks to build a list, or maybe a few. So many ways to turn here. Could even try to hop on trending topics. While that won't help you with SEO, social media could flock to it.

Just some rambling thoughts. Hope it helps
