Ive written an ebook, is my next step clickbank?

Hello

Ive written an ebook in a competitive market but my information is very true from my own experience and although its a hugely competitive market, surely theres space for my ebook?

Do i register on clickbank and pay the £45 to join and add my ebook to be downloaded or are there other sites where its not as expensive and i can sell it for people to download, pay and enjoy my read or all sites?

thank you

There's no sign-up fee for product vendors at DigiResults, I understand, unlike at Clickbank. But they don't work in exactly the same way (in terms of allocation/distribution of payments to all parties, among other things) so be sure to read up and understand the ins and outs before taking the plunge!

Wherever you decide to list your product for sale, you'll need a sales page of sorts. Typically I'd suggest a text-based one, which suggests that you'll need to either employ the services of an effective copywriter or have a stab at it yourself (but it's not easy, so be warned ). Effective copy doesn't come cheap, however, so if you do go the paying route, take your time and seek out someone with a good reputation.

The great thing about Clickbank over most other e-product retailers is the sheer size of their affiliate pool. I'm not saying you won't have to expend any effort whatsoever promoting your product yourself, either to affiliates or consumers or both, if you opt for CB, but I certainly think seasoned affiliates will stand a greater chance of happening upon your book at Clickbank than just about anywhere else, and the confidence commanded in their standing as the leading online marketplace for e-products certainly has its advantages, too.

    Good luck, anyhow!

First of all, do you actually think people will buy it? (Not trying to insult you - Just making sure you are on the right track!)

For example, do you have a list to market the product to? Clickbank is definitely a great place to sell your product, however consider the POV of the customer, why should they purchase your guide over someone elses in this competetive market?

Personally i would give it away for free and build a list with it, then market products in the future to that list. You will see much higher profits.

The only real way to get something to sell well on clickbank with no previous feedback on the product is to offer 100% commision and a price of around $7-$17. But then you are not getting any money from the sales.

I would build a list first if you dont already have one, before putting it on clickbank. Just my opinion though

I think i may be slightly unaware of how this all works.

I thought if you wrote an email whether its a story or factual or dating, weight loss help etc you just need to have great content then hand it over to CB who advise the fee and they manage it all for you. Have i got the wrong end of the stick? Im sorry if im appearing gullible to the market.

With a sales page do you mean buy a domain and set up a page? how do people add it to the basket and then download the file and use paypal? ecommerce support this?

    thank you for your comments

Just to add another possibility here, depending in the type of book you wrote you can look at Amazon Kindle. Some good tutorials currently in Warrior special Offers. This is especially good for somebody who does not have the salespage etc infrastructure because Amazon does all the selling for you.

Noooo... Clickbank's just a retailer, really.

They have their own shopping cart, they'll process payments, divide up and send out earnings to vendors (i.e. yourself) and their affiliates (if necessary) and they'll process refunds, but you still need to have a finished product to send them and you still have to host the product's sales page on your own website/domain. They won't do that for you.

Turning an ebook from Word or a similar format into a basic PDF isn't too difficult - you can essentially "print" straight to a PDF / Adobe Reader file - but you might typically want to add a bit of special formatting, a nice cover and other such considerations, and although a glossy sales page isn't necessary (heck, many of us prefer very plain, simple, straightforward sales pages with minimal / no graphics, etc.), there's a good chance you'd need to consult with a copywriter if you're to have one crafted that converts reasonably well.

So there are certainly things missing from your plan, here, by the sounds of it. Not necessarily major stumbling blocks by any means, but probably one or two unforeseen costs and hassles.

I'm sure there are services out there that could handle all of this for you, but I couldn't recommend any, myself, having never used them.

Your aim should not be 'where is the one best place for me to advertise'. It should really be about putting your book out there to every quality source you can find. Monitor the results of each source and edit or remove your listings from any that you do not profit from.

Every ebook, every market, and every ad will inspire different results so don't just listen to us, get out there and experiment!

ClickBank, Amazin Kindle too name a few. As suggested I would look for all the platforms you can sell on. Then choose which one gives best results

Am I right in saying if you sell on Amazon, you can't sell anywhere else  Thanks if someone can give me the answer to this.

For newbies. It DOES NOT work like this:

    1. Create an eBook
    2. Set up a Sales Page
    3. Add product to Clickbank
    4. Affiliates make you millions of sales
    5. You buy a yacht and ferrari

    NO NO NO!

I'm not suggesting this is how you have thought this through, but just in case you do think like this...

The first 3 are correct, but the next couple aren't quite that easy. Just be warned, getting your product on clickbank is just the initial and easy bit.

Do you have a list in that market? Are you going to do a pre launch for the ebook? Has it been branded, graphics wit an affiliate program? These are all important questions
