      AlertPay? Really?

Why is it that some many members just spew off "information" off-the-cuff without even the slightest concern for disseminating accurate information?

PayPal is the "Walmart" of online payments and as their rules ARE becoming more restrictive it's might be a good idea to find an alternative.

Look into setting up an ACH (Automated Clearing House) where you don't pay any fees and the money goes right into your checking account.

I think you mean ACH merchant account, correct?

ACH merchant account is an option yes.

But I was referring to a Bank ACH transfer:

        What is Bank ACH Transfer?

Gotcha, that's what I thought you meant... I didn't think you could setup ACH for one-time online payments... for instance an e-commerce store.

Wepay.com is a great PayPal alternative. ACH is only $.50 per transaction, and there is no application process so you can get started in minutes.

There's a bunch of other features, like invoices that would be helpful for marketers.

I am coming to feel the best alternative to PayPal is having your own merchant account.

The the list of "usual suspects" always comes up when this PP alternative scenario is raised. Every one, imo, has significant drawbacks. AlertPay, as I understand it, does not even accept VISA & MC, so how can that be a viable alternative for a serious marketer?..and little-known processor start-ups will have no credibility or trust with buyers.

I have an alertpay account and I've connected my VISA card without any problems. But indeed it was a period when alertpay didn't accept VISA or MC cards. Everything is OK for me now!
So, alternatives are alertpay, solidtrustpay or Google checkout!

You have many choices when it comes to alternatives: google checkout, alertpay, 2CO and even opening up a payment processing account with someone like authorize.net and a merchant account. It will depend upon what your needs are but 2CO seems to be the all around great choice.

Moneybrooker and Alertpay that are supposed to be a good Paypal alternative have their own round of issues and even appear worse than Paypal.

Lately, I came across this source at Session One from this forum. It’s a new service and pays money directly into your bank account. I really don’t know how this service works because Paypal works well for me but all those I have recommended it to gave me great feedback. The owner used to work with Citibank (Regional Director), with his wealth of experience, it think they are going to go far when judged by the feedback.

It doesn’t cost anything to try but remember, I have nothing to do with this alternative, I just love plan B that is all.

Paypal unfortunately are shutting peoples accounts down, lets not take away the fact they are always a good secondary option for a customer on your site. I have always suggested to people, get a merchant account, why. You are in more control as long as you are not selling get rich digital books. However, if you are selling physical products you can easily get a merchant account with a payment gateway for as little as $30 a month that will accept all types of credit cards etc.

if you live outside the US, it still can be done without a SSN if you know how.

IMO, PayPal is one of the best services for online payment but if this is not available so try Alert pay which is also good for this purpose.

You can't, there is no real alternative to paypal.

Paypal is just too big and people love using them.

Other payment processor are too unpopular.

It's unfortunate that PayPal is making online marketers miserable by shorting down some of their accounts. However, some other payment processing alternatives are springing up nowadays. As marketers reputations are at stake here, caution should be taken when making a choice. Some well-known and equally reputable payment processors like AlertPay, 2checkout & Google's could be tried.

I have heard of all of the above-mentioned PP alternatives. They probably would help. I was a little bit shocked. How could Paypal just shut down accounts? As far as I know they can't discriminate unless an affiliate marketer is doing something illegal. Right?

2checkout doesn't allow the selling of internet marketing products. I wouldn't recommend Google Checkout either.

    Try Clickbank or 1shoppingcart.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned WePay.

    http://www.wepay.com

Much better than Paypal, similar fees, easier to work with, insanely responsive customer support, simple user interface, no account limitations, no money being taken hostage for 180 days, just much better!

You probably had too many disputes from customers so you cannot use paypal anymore. they kicked you out and you have no choice than to use wepay.

If you do a little search in the WF about this subject, you will see that thousands of posts have already been written discussing the PayPal alternative issue.

There are PayPal alternatives but all of them have pros and cons. You have to try out 1-2 just to see which suits the best for you.

    Cheers
