    Life,
I've seen several video WSOs, but they were last summer, when I was last active at WF. I believe Mr. Anderson had such a WSO --some related special effects, while another I read discussed equipment and lighting. My suggestion is to search for that via the site or via google, while limiting the search just to warriorforum.com.

    Success,
    Sam

Whatever you end up getting, I would recommend getting a softbox with the lighting you choose. I use Arri and JTL Lighting. JTL is good for budget lighting.

Also, preferably...get a lighting dimmer to adjust the lights so you aren't constantly dealing with diffusion and rigging up lighting color temperatures if you're not familiar with this area.

As a budget alternative, you can also use LED on-camera technology if you are just doing "piece to camera/talking head" videos from a medium (from the waste up) or medium close-up (mid chest on up) shot where you can stick an LED light with built-in diffusion (that creates a softer light) on top of your camera.

      Hope that helps,

      Scott

Softboxes seems the way to go. Thanks.

Should I go with fluorescent or halos softboxes?

How much wattage should I use for 3 lights? Chromkey?

    Do I need 3 with a spotlight?

Technically, you could get away with one light for most of your shooting. But a three light setup is key. You do not need a spot unless you are darker areas and want zero shadows. I use 750 and 1000 watt lights simply because that is what I have. THere are a couple books out there showing proper lighting techniques, I am sure you would be able to find something on youtube as well. As for chromakey, you want to make sure the green/blue screen is perfectly, uniformly lit. any shadows and you will have the dreaded halo look or there will be noise on the final video.

    Check out onlinevideotoolkit.com

This guy has videos on which camera to buy which is not expensive at all and he is stil gets great results, and he has a section on lighting even if you are only using your webcam and room lights, great stuff.

I personally use some fluro lights I made up which work great.

You can't just use normal fluros and you have to add an electronic balasts to remove any flicker.

To build 4 which gives fantastic soft light was the same cost for one professional light.

Also very cool as I live in a hot area and don't need the sound of air conditioners trying to get rid of the heat of the lamps.
