Starting A Membership/Review Site

Someone is asking me about how to build a site where people can visit, login and rate/review individuals that provide a specific service (I dont want to give away the service here, so let just say for example, people can login and rate/review auto mechanics).

Does anyone have any experience with these kinds of sites? Is it necessary to hire a programmer or are their easy ways via WordPress, for example, to add that kind of functionality to a site?

Any help - as usual - is greatly appreciated.

    Well, there is an easy way I can think of for WP.

    You can get a membership script that works on WP like (WP Wishlist - aMember - DAP - ... etc) There are a lot of them out there for WP.

    Then you post a review about the product, then install a free plugin that allows your members to rate the post (AKA product).

    This way your members are going to purchase the membership, then log in then see your review posts then rate it and they also can comment on it.

    Paid Memberships Pro has integration with paypal or authorize.net

    This rating plugin looks like it should do what you want:
