Is it possible to get free traffic on day 1 after website is setup?

On a number of occasions I've been able to register a new domain, put together a WP site, and get it to the number one position in Google (natural results) in just a few hours. So, it IS possible to get immediate traffic through SEO alone (though very hard to get a lot of it). But the most reliable method for instant traffic is paid advertising, such as Google AdWords or Facebook ads. And if you're setting up a new account, you can get a $100 voucher for free advertising with AdWords - you can get this from a Google Approved agency (and I happen to be own one).

You could try adfly
Very cheap at the moment, $10 for 25,000 ads
No guarantee of click thru rates though, traffic quality not always the best
However, Im getting about 1000 hits a day using this method
So if you just want cheap traffic then this is a good place to start

Traffic takes time to grow, but you can do things like finding popular blogs in your niche that get a lot of traffic and comment on some post. Make sure to contribute to the conversation and to only put your website url in the website url box. You can also do the same things with forums in your niche -- making sure to add value and making use of the signature file section. You can also use social media sites to spread the word and popular social bookmarking sites like Digg and so on.

If you want seo from google then once up for a week if very niche then yes possible

To Get traffic on 1st is not possible on the 1st day with organic search result but you can certainly get traffic on paid advertising or some how, you will have to get your site notice by commenting , posting and participating on other popular blogs, facebook page or groups or linkedin threads where there is a discussion an audience. Make sure you are not spamming, just follow the discussion and provide good answers, comments if you decide to participate.

Yes it is possible, requires many hours of work and dedication, nothing comes just because, you have to work hard to achieve it.
Especially if you want it free, we'll it never really is free, you pay with time and effort.

Traffic on day 1? Not going to happen. If you want right away you may have to pay for. As far as I can tell from my own experience Google is fast to crawl your site but slow to index it. WordPress will ping Google when you publish your post and then crawls your site but it still takes awhile to index it.

You can get a few page views in the first day. However, you should focus on building steady traffic in the long run. It is important to gain loyal readership and make people come back to your website on a regular basis.

Not necessarily true. All it takes is posting at a handful of high traffic / niche-related forums and linking to your site in your sig. As long as you're actually leaving legitimate posts and not spamming the forums to death you'll be fine. It's actually one of the ways I test to see how well a product or page converts. You can easily get a few hundred visitors over the course of a couple of days.

Commenting on niche-related and high traffic blogs can do the same thing. Especially on brand new posts.

You could definitely get traffic on day one with a little work. If it's a niche site, try joining some facebook groups and telling the group members about the site. Don't be spammy though. Try to actually provide some useful info.

It is very possible to get traffic on the very first day with your site it will just take some effort.
The best way to get traffic is to put a link to your site in your signature at subject related forums. For example if you have a car product put the link in your signature on a popular car forum. Then go ahead and post informative and interesting threads and respond to other peoples threads. This is the best way to get targeted traffic for free.
Social media is also very powerful especially if you already have a profile with lots of fans and followers in that niche

Good, consistent traffic takes time but there is no harm in trying a few tricks to get fast traffic. I've found that blog and forum commenting can be very effective in a short period of time, if done right and not in a spammy way.

If you get traffic, can you convert the traffic...to make money--or obtain regular customers? If not, traffic becomes irrelevant.

Chances are, anything you put up quickly will not convert that well. The exception would be a canned site. Traffic is fun; and it is a start, but results are where it is. Before you pursue traffic, make sure your site will have the zing to keep them returning and eventually buying.

yes i did manage to make a £67 on my first website on the very first day it was launched. it was a dating site, launched it around 0900 hours, i did use a list to bring traffic to it, by evening there were 12 people registered on it and one of them paid £67 around 2200 hours.
that made me think yes it is possible to make money on line and thanks to that very first payment who helped me where i am today.

It is totally possible to get lots of targeted traffic to a brand new site and generate revenue right away. I do it every day and its free traffic. Im not trying to rank my sites though. Its thinking outside the box and using tools. If anyone is interested in how I do it PM me.

There are a few pretty good ways on day one..

You can use social media sites like IMGUR, post a funny comment and lead it back to your site.

Use google alerts to notify you about posts in your niche, than comment on them about your site. This works well!
