Did You Know You Could Optimise "Copy" and "Paste"?

If you have a blog I suggest you implement Tynt today.

How it works: When someone does a copy and paste from your website, it will also give the original source a "credit" this includes the URL and small description.

Have fun!

How did you find this it sounds incredible.

Is it software based or can you just change your computers settings or something?

You just need to add the javascript snippet to the HTML on your page template.

      Here's how it looks:

You would prefer they let you steal their content more easily?

I don't understand why you would hate sites that do this. The link only shows up when you copy and paste, so only "annoying" if you want to steal a quote without attribution.

I like sites that do this this because it makes it easier to copy & paste with attribution. Otherwise, I would have to manually put in the link and credit.

But anything to make it easier to swipe someone's work, eh?

Same, it's really annoying. It doesn't stop people stealing content, all you have to do is delete the attribution. For those of us who are going to give proper attribution anyway, it's just an annoyance because it needs to be deleted and pasted in the right place anyway.

I don't see how a link in an email gives you a back link. I can see how it does with other forms of sharing like social sites though.

I forgot to mention that you can check and see what people have been copying, this includes text and images. It can give you huge indication what your users like and are sharing.

If someone wants to swipe your content, all they have to do is delete it after they paste it. So this isn't really going to help.
