1. How many pages or words are most ebooks that IM'rs sell?

2. What would be a good price to sell it for?

3. Where would the top few places you would sell it be?

4. Is it very profitable? Or not really worth the time?

Thanks

    Hey Newff.

It's very subjective. It all depends on the niche you're writing about, how popular the niche is, how exclusive the information is, and how good you are at writing a sales page (which is probably more important than the info in your ebook).

The best spots to sell them would be on your site, here, digital point, or even try ebay. You can even format it for Kindle (no hyperlinks) and try your luck there.

    Take care,

    Kevin

BTW, I like your website. The name nichegrind.com is a great one and I wish you luck in your money making pursuit.

Thanks, I came up with the name from my other side income which is poker. Not sure if you heard of the term used that way but poker players who play a lot are called "grinders" commonly. As for my site I kinda ran out of cash for a while so I couldn't build backlinks to my sites but I just started again a while back and they should be ranked soon.

I was hoping to do the whole Adsense niche site thing and I will hopefully but I also need to learn some other stuff because Adsense is like playing with fire if that;s your only income lol

Thnaks for the info guys and keep it coming if you want

I'm a fan of poker myself.

The domain fits in perfectly with what you're trying to do, so keep going with it! You may want to check out http://www.AdsenseFlippers.com it's a great example of what you're trying to do, as these guys are making a good go of it and not afraid to tell you how they did it.

A couple of things I want you to consider:

        1. try some free methods of backlinking such as blog commenting, article submissions, forum posting (like you're doing), social media, social bookmarking etc. It's time consuming, but you need to do it in the beginning to better allocate your funds to putting out more content and websites.

        2. there are other monetization methods besides Adsense. There's Infolinks, Amazon, Clickbank, CPA, Commission Junction, etc. Experiment with them to find the combination that works best for you.

Feel free to ask me questions any time.

        Take care,

        Kevin

    1. How many pages or words are most ebooks that IM'rs sell?

    6 to 200+

    2. What would be a good price to sell it for?

    $5 to $47

    3. Where would the top few places you would sell it be?

    Warrior Forum
    Kindle
    Docstoc
    Smashwords

    4. Is it very profitable? Or not really worth the time?

It depends on if you create good products.

If you produce products that people want to buy, it can be very lucrative.

    Hey,

Ebooks can be as long or as short as you want. Thats TOTALLY up to you, however long you think it will take in order for you to get your message across is how long your ebook should be.

As far as pricing goes it depends on what market you're selling to but I've seen Ebooks sell for as $7 all the way up to $97(with some extra bonuses added in). It really just depends on your audience, how much money they have, and how much you feel your information is worth.

As far as selling your ebook goes, you can sell it on your website, you can sell it on kindle, and you can put it up for sale on clickbank. All three of those if done right can be very profitable for you.

And to answer your last question YES ebooks are profitable. People still love reading information and in my opinion always will continue to. Look at the kindle market, it's growing at a rapid rate and more and more ebooks are being consumed and sold.

So yea, as long as your ebook helps people and solves people's problems I don't see why not....go for it!!!

    Hope this helps

I remember when I wrote my first ebook, I tried to be ambitious thinking that it should be as professionally written and thick in volume. Eventually what was more important was the details of the unique content provided that really brought in the sales.

I don't write/sell ebooks anymore. I think PLR has kind of killed the ebook golden goose.

Nowadays I just make cheat-sheets, Tutorials or a video ecourse, which is basically a powerpoint with screencast.

I charge less for them but I can make a few of these in a day.

With all the content already on the net, your time would be better served selling content instead of creating it.

At the end, people just want to be told what to do to feel good, and if you can do that fast, they'll actually thank you for it.

Hi Newff. I can't answer for "most" ebooks, but I can tell you about my own.

Recently, my daughter and I decided to try publishing fiction for the Kindle. Our stories are approximately 20 pages and sell for $2.99 through Amazon.com exclusively.

We started on April 5th, and in 12 days published four stories and made just over $130 in sales.

No disrespect, Newff, but you're asking the wrong questions.

Start with this question: "How can I use what I know to HELP others?"

That's the only question you need.

It may take some digging; chances are, you do what you're good at unconsciously.

"What you're good at" can be anything.

You don't need to know a lot about your topic. Let's say you're good at putting on makeup (girl), or at picking up women (guy). Don't know which you are, sorry... :-)

You don't need to know makeup so well that you could be a beautician. You could just cover eye makeup. This would probably be a video product.

If you're a guy, you don't need to know a lot about psychology to create your dating book. You just need to know what works.

IMPORTANT: You just need to cover ONE thing about your topic in your ebook. Info product creators want to cram too much into their products. If you latch onto ONE thing, it can make great income for you.

For example, Mike Geary makes a million dollars a MONTH -- The Truth About Abs: How To Make $1,000,000 Per Month with Digital Products (Plus: Noah Kagan results) His topic covers six pack abs -- ONE topic. He doesn't bother with fitness in general (I think -- I haven't read the book. :-))

You can make as much money as you want writing ebooks... As long as you start by wanting to HELP.

    Cheers

      Great advice here.

A solid business plan when selling ebooks and informational products: provide huge value, and go above and beyond the expectations of your customers. All facets of your business should aim to provide value, from the original sale, any upsells and correspondence in newsletters.

Ebooks is still a good source if you can write original and unique ideas. Others are making money even rewriting some old ebooks (not recommended though)

    1. How many pages or words are most ebooks that IM'rs sell?
However many or few words it takes to get your point across clearly and completely.

    2. What would be a good price to sell it for?
The price that people will pay. It takes experimentation.

    3. Where would the top few places you would sell it be?
    Wherever your target audience is.

    4. Is it very profitable? Or not really worth the time?
Some people making a living on it. Some don't. Others make more than a living. Selling eBooks is a business like any other, and you'll fail a lot before you figure out how to make it work.

The price varies - it's up to you.

For example, I started out at $27. Then $37. I have a book that went for $37 and was selling a few copies every month.

One day I started to sell it at $97 a month. Still selling a few copies every month (TIP: very often the strength of your sales copy is what determines 90% of the price )

Enough to tell people how to do one thing. "One thing" can actually have more than one definition (did you know I grew up an hour from the boyhood home of Bill Clinton?). The One Thing might be how to install keylogging software onto a computer, or it might be how to select the best keylogging software, install it, and extract the information, or it might be how to see if your spouse is cheating, using keylogging software and a variety of other methods.

(I don't advocate using keylogging software, but this is the first example I've thought of.)

What is your audience looking for? There is a good chance that people in your niche are at various stages, so some would want the detailed multi-part manual, while some are just looking to learn a single specific task.

In the case of the "catch your cheating spouse" niche, most people are going to want the big manual first, and then may want to buy the smaller guides later. In other niches, it's the opposite.

Here's what i think and it's really good you asked this questions if you are planning on selling one.

    1. How many pages or words are most ebooks that IM'rs sell?
    20 pages and above

    2. What would be a good price to sell it for?
Staring at dimesale price of $7 to $12. Higher than $15? I think anyone will think twice since it's just an ebook. Such as on WF, most sellers sell ebook under $15.

    3. Where would the top few places you would sell it be?
    WF, Clickbank, and JVZoo.

    4. Is it very profitable? Or not really worth the time?
I would choose to sell plugins as people will think it's worth to buy plugins even if it's $27. I would think twice to buy an ebook with that price. It is worth your time if it's really useful, the last ebook that i bought is Compressor Champion (WSO) which i think worth my money as it really helps me compress my videos and i got it at $8 (I'm not affiliated to this WSO).

    Hope this helps.
