First Attempt: Amazon Affiliate Sales
I picked up some speculative EMDs awhile ago and just got confirmation last week that one of the products will be released within a month. The product goes by a different model number scheme in the US and Europe, I own nice EMDs for both.
The previous model, in the same format as my keyword, (non-US version) is getting 40k net global exact match searches with low competition. The US version has about 7k local exact match searches.
I have the non-US version up and it's ranked #2 in the UK and #3 in Canada. I'd really like to get it ranked better in Germany (first on page 3 currently), where a good portion of the European traffic comes from. I have not yet built the US site, starting that right now.
Should I grab the .de and put up a translated version of the site? Would this help or am I smoking crack here? Any tips to help the German ranking?
I created all the necessary Amazon affiliate accounts and tied them in with the Amazon Affiliate Link Localizer plugin. How can I test to make sure my outside the US traffic is being directed to the correct Amazon product page? I can't even test from the US because the model number scheme doesn't exist on amazon.com, so it takes me to search results instead.
Any other tips for a complete Amazon noob would be greatly appreciated!
