Give me ideas to get leads

I decided to offer SEO services with my knowledge as I proved myself for my few own sites.

As first step, I had launched a website.

I started to work on local keywords to rank myself on Google for SEO services and get traffic. But as you all know, it will really takes time, it is not matter of few weeks process. At the moment, I am working on it.
But, I heard from my friend that he is not getting good traffic even he is ranking well for SEO related keywords.

I had initially emailed to few roofers, accountants, dentists and very few real estate agents. I had sent around 1000+ emails. I gather emails using yellowpages, yell.com and etc, but still I do not get any responses.

I had invested more time on research in current SEO market (Market research helps me to guess offers from SEO guys in the market and their prices.), email marketing, designing price models, offers and etc. But, I feel that something had gone wrong somewhere.....,I am stuck in middle...:confused:

But I do not want to run away from this my new business, I want to get success, so that I would like to get some advice from you guys based on your experience on getting into a new business, struggling there and getting success.... Specially give me some ideas to get new business in SEO industry

    Rank your site for SEO related keywords. I doubt spamming sites emails you got out of yellow pages is going to get your very far. Emails like that don't get opened on my end...

    You can give an ad in the Warriors for Hire section or look out for Warriors who need SEO services in the Wanted section.

    Check Elance and Odesk, get some jobs and start building your profile there, don't give up and keep bidding on jobs, eventually you will get one and the next will follow.
    you have to keep moving forward - take action.

      Thanks, Yes, I am using Freelancer.com to get few projects. But there are guys with limited budgets

        If you want to get customers and promote yourself as an industry expert, you need to share your expertise and show people that your good at what you do. Write guest posts on websites in your niche, answer people's questions on Q&A sites, and participate in forums. Try to earn recognition online and market yourself. Use classified ads to promote your services. Eventually you can start a blog and write articles about your topics of interest.

    I would suggest you to go certain forums and find good clients there. Write some E-books and show your skills to people, only then You can attract good customers. Good Luck :-)

      Thanks, Could you please recommend me some such resources to use?

      Any ideas on how to distribute e-books to people? Again need to do email-marketing there, I guess, most of the people will afraid to open attachments on their emails...

    You should really start targeting keyword that you think are not the most popular, i have had more success with keywords that are almost irrelevant, then using the most popular of words,

    With everything you said you did, and still, nothing has been working for you, I think it's high time for you to:

    Offer more value. Learn other ways to get leads. Spend time learning about content syndication, guest authoring, PPC advertising, forum and blog marketing, social media marketing, product marketing for mailing list building, private and solo email advertising, JVing and viral marketing. If these things still don't work, then you can:

    PUNISH THOSE WHO WRONGED YOU, SLOWLY, VIOLENTLY, REPEATEDLY...

    yes, I have introduced an offer like FREE SEO Offer | Ethee SEO Services - But at this initial stage, I really do not think I can afford cost and working free.

    However, I guess that if there is something given free, people will follow up.
