Online email B2B marketing, and acquiring a targeted contact list

Hey everyone. First time user, but I expect to browse the site regularly. I have recently been working as a marketing specialist for a GIS company called BroadMap. We are a GIS solutions company that works mainly with gov't contracting on broadband serviceability maps. Currently, I am working to expand sales on our other product, and need to market accordingly.

We have recently put out an online email campaign for a product called MapConnect Enterprise, a mapping data product that is designed for the enterprise user- it will be a straight B2B sales. we are holding a full 30% MSRP discount on the product for the next two months. My main concern currently is expanding the contact list we have. Where should I look to target the right customers? Our target market is mainly businesspeople that are involved in using smart mapping products to carry our operations for their company, people in fields such as: insurance, real estate, banking/finance, marketing, telco, Government, electric, direct MKTG, emergency MGMT, QSR, BUSN intelligence, healthcare, and utility fields.

    This is not my field, but I do have very similar targeted markets. What seems to work best in building lists of such professionals is to write articles for trade journals and other relevant online/offline publications that your target market reads. It's really that simple. By demonstrating your expertise and knowledge of this topic you will have a rare advantage over the competition - direct access to industy leaders and decision makers.

    Good deal. Yes we are keeping up with activity such as that. I am writing press releases pretty regularly. We are actually about to release one about the sales campaign we are currently driving, with a THIRTY percent off MSRP. That's a NICE chunk of money when dealing with GIS products such as MapConnect Enterprise. Thanks for the input!

      If you actually know the industry and the job title of your ideal clients, a list broker could come in handy.
