Newbie help- Don't know where to start

Hi everyone,
This forum has been very helpful in giving ideas and that sort of thing, but I find myself stuck. I have a blog with 15 articles about nursing. Which you can visit at nursingassistantnews.com I have adsense running on the site and I am making about a cent a day, lol. I guess my question is how do I move forward? What WP template could I use to improve CPC? I have the quality content but traffic seems to be my biggest obstacle. If you all have any tips or ideas I would love to hear them.

Thank you for all your help!

It sounds like you are getting the idea, but the Internet is a big place, you can't just post a few articles and the money starts rolling in. You need to learn how to utilize traffic sources. As you have said this forum is full of great information, now you need to learn traffic methods such as SEO, PPC, etc. These can be found with the search button.

Right off the bat from looking at your site, the "education connection" Adsense Ad is being cut off. Needs to be fixed.

As far as traffic, I was going to recommend you try to get your work syndicated; but after reading a few of the articles you unfortunately have a ways to go before being ready for that step. They read very much like high school essays.

There is an awful lot of free info on this forum and others for a start

In the All-in-one sections abouve the forum, in the Article section and in other places.

Do a search of the forum for what you want to know.

Don't get yourself on too many IM marketers lists - you will be flooded with e-mail.

Find out a list of traffic sources and start persistently going through the methods (doc share sites like scribd, video submission, social media and all manner of others).

Work on optimising your site for the search engines. This is not easy or straightforward. Take your time.

Do a free website assessment at woorank dot com and see what they recommend.

Take the long term view and it will pay off. Make sure your content is well written, original and interesting.

I have been the same thing for the last 8 months with a blog site and have just got my first Google top 10 ranking for my major KW and I only have 6 incoming links (but they are good ones including the Forum of Harvard Medical school)!!

Good luck, be patient and don't stress it

Is your blog a new one? You can't expect to earn money just overnight, you have to give it sometime to see some earning from it, hope that helps.

If traffic is your issue. You can try free or paid traffic. Or best do both.

There are alot of ways to get traffic. Fastest is to use PPC, while SEO may take some time. Post more articles in directories and post more in forum.

You can do guest blogging also, leverage on the traffic from other people's blog and direct them to your blog. Ask those blog owners if they are willing to let you do a guest post. It is one of the easiest and direct way to get traffic.

Do video submission as well. Do a clip of yourself or anything and upload to video directories. If it goes viral, you are in for the kill.

      • Making money online requires time. If you want to promote your website and get steady traffic, you need to focus on SEO. Write keyword-rich articles, add your site to niche directories, and share your content on social networking sites. Give people a reason to visit your website. Offer valuable information and syndicate your content.

Its a good thing that you understand this a bit more and already have good content but making money online isn't easy you need to build a list of loyal customers and build a relationship with them in order to make them stay subscribed to you... if you need traffic coming in to your website I recommend you start interacting in social media like facebook, twitter, youtube, ect... you can also start branding yourself and your business using social media by advertising with solo ads. but if you need money fast and target traffic I suggest you make a blog full of valuable content and new tricks and ideas, doing so will make have many people interested in your content that you provide in the blogs.

    Kindest,

    Adan
