Google has gone insane..How can anyone claim to know what Google wants??

hey guys, hope everybody is well today!

Let's dive in! There are two reasons for the title of my post :-

1) I've had a site de-indexed for about 7 months because I transferred all of my domains over from one host to another. Some of their database names changed and so typing in the url would give you "Database connection error" - I didn't bother changing the sites that weren't bringing me in any money and just left them and, of course, Google de-indexed them. This particular site at its peak before being de-indexed was around number 5-6 on Page 1 for its keyword after a year of being live.

Few weeks back I had some time so thought I'd fix all the sites I'd left to be de-indexed..Guess what? 2 days later I notice an adsense click of around 50 cents and I see that my de-indexed site is ranking number 1..and it has been for 2 solid weeks after SEVEN months of being de-indexed. Zero backlinks anymore when you check any backlink checker and only 4 pages of content..keyword in the domain. Well, looks like Google let me get in her pants real quick after taking me back!

But ya know what? The rest of my sites which were in similarly competetive niches and in almost an identical style (some of which I actually put more effort into with around 8-10 posts!) are re-indexed too but nowhere to be found on the first 3-5 pages!

Ahh Google, you big tease!

Reason number 2) - Searching a pretty competitive keyword that I made some pretty good money with 2 xmas' ago to see what the scope of the first few pages are currently on Google..Well it's quite clear that Google is favouring "Web2.0's" at the moment because there are a bunch of crappy ones dominating the listings and my favourite one is this one on the bottom of page 2..

Cricut Expressions Lancashire

Please scroll right down through ALLLL of the affiliate links, banners and popups to the bottom for the "Article" - I don't know whether to laugh or cry reading that but luckily I see the humour in an article that seems to merge Nazi's with crafts decorating machines???

My point is, Google doesn't even know wtf it wants..how can anybody here or anywhere else for that matter claim to know what Google wants? Or claim to be an SEO expert? Is there even such a thing anymore?

Personally, I'm running from anybody who claims it and looking for better ways to get traffic, advertise and promote myself because relying on an entity that changes it's mind like the weather isn't for me...

Hope this gives some people food for thought but at the same time, I couldn't pass sharing that atrociously hilarious article with you whilst providing a moral to the story at the same time

Best wishes to one and all

Google is constantly changing to improve results, which has probably caused it to lose track of its own identity and desires. It seems like some great sites (not mine so no I'm not biased) are no longer ranking and have been replaced by some cheesy crap. I think they need to stop tweeking just for the sake of it, because I don't see as much improvement with the last couple of major updates for a number of keywords. They seem to want what is best for humans, but I don't think they always do that well. Don't get me wrong, some of their updates have been great. Panda knocked off of a ton of those stupid ezine and ehow articles. But many of their changes have simply dinged legitimate sites instead.
