How do I write the "LEGAL" chapter of my ebook?

I am just about finished with my first e-book ...I have a few more chapters to go including the "LEGAL" portion of it. My problem is that I don't know how to go about writing the legal chapter ...is there any advice out there that would set me on the right path?

Also ....would it be a wise to get my ebook copyrighted or how does all of that work?

Please excuse my noobness ....I just need some good tips that will help reveal what I need to do for my ebook.

all depends how serious you are...i bet 90% of people who write "legal jargon" at the start of their ebooks copy it from another book in the same niche. Unless you are lawyer it will be pretty difficult to get the right stuff in there...and depending on the book and the contents and the niche...you might need more disclaimers to be legit...

Well maybe not 90 % but a lot...

Legal section: Those who need it can afford to hire a legal professional to write it. The rest just stick disclaimers in there thinking it gives them some kind of protection- it don't.

Ah ha! Makes sense to me ...

What about copyrighting the ebook before it launches? Is that even necessary?

    (steps into the deep end)

Technically I believe the copyright is created automatically upon completion of the work. The burden is on the owner to prove/protect it.

I think for most of us, we can register a DMCA complaint if we find someone using our work inappropriately (usually effective). Beyond that we just accept some run off as a cost of doing business.
