Commission Junction - adding your own product?

Just researching on Commission Junction and I have a few questions.
1. I did a random search for ebooks on making money online, but there were hardly any results.
2. Is there a step by step guide on setting yourself up as an 'advertiser'? I went through the process, but it started asking me questions about whether my site had been up and running for a year(?). If I'm selling an ebook, what does it matter?
