Review Marketing Plan, Please

Hello,

I am selling an e-book on a parenting topic and already had some sales but by far they didn´t cover my expenses. So I know that my product is selling but I need more targeted traffic to my site.

How does my "strategy" look like?

I have got a sales page with a normal sales letter selling my e-book. I now want to build another "authority site" which I want to be ranked highly on google for my top keywords. I now have 100 articles written. With these I want to build:

a) My authority site to funnel traffic to my sales letter
b) Post some of these articles in the top article directories
c) Use the rest articles to deeplink into my authority site with Linkvana
d) Create some Squidoo lenses optimized for the most important Keywords that link to my sales letter.

Questions:

Is this a good strategy, would you change something?
Would recommend having two sites (authority site + sales page)?
Does linkvana work well for my purposes?
Can I built the Squidoo lenses on one day or is it better to wait a week or so until starting with the next one?

    Yeah, I think that sounds good, but you can also take it a step further. You can build a bunch of different lenses\hubs\blogs on the niche and link them all together, sending links to each.

    You can also use social bookmarking, and send pings to your tags in your social bookmarks (I love using social bookmarking demon).

    Forum posting to relevant forums with your link in sig.

    Buying a High PR link or two.

    PRWeb releases are great, but they are $80.

    I also always submit sites I put a lot of time into to the Yahoo! Directory (although it is $300 a month) - I think this really helps your page ranking, although some would argue that point, it's an on going debate.

    One last thing I can think of real quick is to add an opt-in form with some free stuff, build trust, and eventually a long term relationship with your visitors.

    Hope you got some ideas from that.

      You know its $299 a year and not that a month. There is also Best of the Web Directory which a one time $249 fee but it sends high PR and favour with google. And of course there is ODP - Open Directory Project not easy getting in though.

    You should also use those articles to generate traffic.

    There are so many different ways to use 1 article to generate traffic and you have 100 of them.

    Since you have all these articles I'd look into a serious content distribution strategy.

    One article spread all over the net could easily produce 1,000 visitors to your main sales letter and you have 100!

      Yes I do have 100 articles on my topic. I hired somebody to distribute 10 articles to 350 article directories.

      Would you have another interesting strategy I could follow?

    - Turn every page of content ( that's 100 x 4? ) into an RSS feed and submit to the RSS aggregates and also the ping sites.


    Since you have all this content you MUST take advantage of it and become a master of content distribution.

    Of course you should look for the easiest, cheapest, simplest methods and services to duplicate, expand and distribute your content.
