Seems we can't no longer use the old style of GMAIL. The new style is being forced upon us.. I really detest this stylish thing..

    Eh it isn't that bad.

    Could be worse- they could decide to completely close down Gmail- I mean it is a FREE service.

      Use an email client like Thunderbird or Outlook to access Gmail. Much nicer interface, and a single click to access your mail.

      Oh, please, Google isn't going to shut down Gmail. They make money off it.

      Gmail exists to sell more ads and (I believe) to do data-mining. You should always assume anything you have in your Gmail account can be read.

      The rationale for changing the Gmail interface is to make it "consistent with other products." In other words, people on the Gmail team don't have enough to do so they're changing things that don't need changing. That's what's annoying.

        Just checked my inbox. I wonder what those poor souls are pulling out of the 18k spam emails that are in there right now .

      You are right but I already found a way to get the old style back, just pay attention while it loads and you'll notice

        Oh, it doesn't worry me personally. My Gmail account is just where I send all of my spam .

          It's just that I am having an app created for some of my clients that is coded for the HTML version. The newer template is in BETA and lines of code in the newer template change each day, which basically means we got to update the app daily and we don't want that! Hence the panic

          But still your message applies everywhere, adapt or die, that pretty much sums up evolution but that's another conversation.

    After sometime you get use to the new Gmail interface and you actually find it quite convenient...I would say even better than their old interface.

    I prefer the old gmail tenfold!

    Now I have a problem with them..... usually I filter my emails into folders so they go directly into a specific folder and skip my inbox if they are from fb or whatever.

    I can do this is the new gmail with labels and filters but I can't figure out how to stop them all appearing in my inbox first, I have to move them from my inbox or delete the inbox label on each message...... is there anyway to get arround this?

    Help much appreshiated!

      Just convert back to the old HTML template. While loggin into your gmail account look in the lower right corner of your screen and you will see a link you should click.

    When it changes I said...damn i prefer the old one...but 4 days later or so I get used to it and now it's like I had it for years

    Even though you still can use the old version, in some months or weeks they will switch all the accounts to the new interface....

      Won't think that will happen as their are still a lot of people using crap computers and crap connections.

      That said, the newer style seemed to be bugging me. Loading times were a long wait..

    I've actually gotten used to the new one. Anyone noticed that Ads don't show in Gmail anymore? It used to show on the right hand side...not anymore though - at least for now.
