Kim Bain-Moore, the first woman in the Bassmaster Classic and how it will effect their marketing

Kim Bain-Moore a 28-year-old Australian native who now lives in Pelham, Alabama has made history, she is the first woman to fish in the Bassmaster Classic! Many anglers and fishing enthusiasts are asking themselves....does she really deserve to be there?

Here is what a couple of competitors have said:
Peter Thliveros, of Jacksonville, a 12-time Classic qualifier. "My biggest gripe about it is she was given an opportunity that none of us were ever given. None of us had the opportunity to fish [the WBT]. It's a girls' club only."

Bernie Schultz of Gainesville, Fla. "But the simple fact remains that she did not qualify like the rest of the competitors. She didn't compete against the guys who earned the right to be here. She competed with a completely different league of anglers.

So what does this have to do with marketing? Just this, regardless of the outcome of the tournament and even if she doesn't place in the top 40, she will still get more publicity than even the winner of this major tournament. Why? Because she is the first woman to ever fish a tournament that has been going on for about 38 years and has been dominated by men until this year. Not only that, you will see a lot more advertising that will be specified towards women in bass fishing ads.

By the way she is in 45th place right now after the first day of fishing and not doing very well but she still will get all the publicity even if she finishes in last place. There are still two days to go in the tournament.

Are you the first to do what you do?
