Who is Running Site Super Tracker On Hostgator?

Ever since Hostgator made a whole bunch of changes last Nov. the site super tracker is not running.

I've gone back and forth for some time with Hostgator support and can't seem to get the problem resolved.

Anyone else using SST on Hostgator without problems?

Maybe I need to switch my sites to another host?

    Hi Evita, I'm having similar problems. Contacted SST support - they gave me the info to give to Hostgator, who then acted on it.

    It works, but reports only about 10% of the true stats.

    I also contacted SST support and they may or may not have given me the same info...
    I'm getting one or 2 hits per day, and then the counter stops.

    If it reports only 10%, then you really don't know that the 10% you are getting is an
    accurate representation of the whole?

    IOW, the info could possibly be more or less useless?

    I really like SST. It gives invaluable info, and I NEED to have it work correctly.

    Hopefully more folks will respond...someone who is not having a problem, or are we all having problems with Hostgator?

    Hi Evita

    There are a couple of problems. The first requires Hostgator to whitelist your domain for mod_sec - they made some changes a few weeks back that impacted on the script. They've done it for a bunch of SST users now, although you sometimes come across a support person who insists they can't - they can and they do.

    The other problem for Adsense tracking is that Google have made some changes so the script needs an update - Jon Leger's working on that.

    As to the accuracy of the overall stats, they may never hit 100%, but if you're only getting 10% something is seriously wrong. Currently, you should be getting very accurate information for your domains,pages and keywords. Adsense click data doesn't show - at least on my Hostgator installed copy it doesn't and I have the latest ast.php file on there.

    Other third party tracking scripts can interefere with SST - I don't know the exact reason for why that occurs - so if you have other javascript on your tracked pages there might be other things going on.

    Just out of interest, how do you know you're only getting about 10% accuracy? What are you comparing it to?

      Just for the record, I'm not the one getting 10% accuracy.
      I'm wayyy off. I get about 1-2 impressions per day. I'm way less than 1% accuracy...

      I don't think that this has anything to do with adsense tracking. Or maybe it does, I'm just so far off I wouldn't even know if I'm having a problem with adsense tracking. I may have more problems than I know.......Aaaarrrgh........

      I'm off by hundreds of visitors and clicks per day according to Googles adsense tracking, along with statcounter.

      I did not know that using other counters could influence, so will try to delete statcounter for a day or so to see if it makes a difference.

      So. What you are saying is that you are using Hostgator and you are able to run SST on your sites??? So then I should be able to as well???

      I know that SST works just fine. It used to. It was very close to adsense and statcounter. Prolly w/in 90-95%.

      Therefore I know it is nothing amiss with SST itself.

      What other host company is compatible with SST?

      Looks like I may be moving....
