What About Classifieds?

I just spent about $20 on 2 different classified sites. 1 For premium ad placement ($16.00) and and another just to have my ad placed on every city($3).All I am trying to do is giveaway some software and a report, and all they have to do is sign up.(list Building)That was 4 days ago, and I have absolutely NO Sign ups. Am I doing something wrong, or are classifieds totally useless?Thanks for your help
