Personally, if you intend to do reviews of Amazon products, I think Best Wordpress Review Theme | ProReviewTheme.com is what you'd need.

If you want a free WP theme, you can go for:
Flexibility Theme for WordPress and customize it...
This is one site I'm working on: Small Air Compressor
See how I included a carousel of products...

Any theme that is relatively clean and clutter free will do. I like Thesis and Flexibility for my sites. A free option that works just as well though is the default Twenty Ten theme.

It may not necessarily be the theme that's the problem - it could be your content or the way you've laid out the content. The only way we could offer suggestions on conversion is if you posted the URL (although that's not advisable as you'll probably make competition for yourself if you do).

Are you referring to ad sense and amazon?

    Hi BXPS!

Echoing what Hamida said, you will find that many of the 2 column free themes that are clean and have no jarring graphics, will do just as well.

I'd like to add that if you want to PM to me your site info, I can take a quick look at it and give you my assessment. I will keep your information strictly confidential!

    Hi there

I wouldn't worry so much about the theme but more about the content on your site. Make sure it targets people who are interested in buying the product, rather than just after information and of course provides as much information as possible in every review.

    regards

I would agree with the others. It most likely is not your theme.

It could be the keywords people are finding your site with and/or your content.

Check and see if you are getting any clicks to Amazon.

There are many variables that could impact your conversion rate. The theme is probably the least of your concerns, right now.

It could be the niche. Are you promoting a product to an audience more likely to read your review and go to the local Walmart for it? Are your visitors in the same Amazon region as your links? For example, links to Amazon.co.uk won't necessarily convert well if your visitors are in Japan, and vice versa.

The content is key. Obviously, it's good enough to be on the first page at Amazon, but what about the sites you're competing with, on that page?

Also, are your expectations reasonable? A 3% conversion rate can be pure gold in some niches. Find out what to expect in your niche and for the products you're promoting. You might be doing great and not realize it.

Or, if you've double-checked all of those things... yes, a theme change might help. For that, I'd start by rotating a couple of clean, free themes and see if your conversions improve with either of them. Test colors, fonts, and so on.

The theme is important in terms of initial visual impression. However, other factors are usually worth close study.
