I REGRET doing so many projects at one time!!!

You can juggle one thing really easily, 2-3 aren't bad, but the more things you juggle, the more likely you'll drop everything.

As long as you have a plan and are organised, this shouldn't be a problem

But saying that, you are in a position that many would envy! Better to be busy with projects, than to be busy with nothing!

The way I see it, you have to go as hard as you can if you're going to make it and keep it. What happens is you keep piling on new projects because they all are dragging, then BAM...they all take off and it's on.

That's the story of alot of marketers around here. The one thing that helps me tremendously is having a to do list right in front of your computer staring you in the face.

Crossing something off the list is a feeling that makes me want to keep going and cross something else off.

i think we all have been a victim of this before

you just have to keep things fairly simple and not have your fingers in too many pies

all i do these days is build my list and update 1 adsense site and build links to it

its so much easier when you just do a couple of things. but when i create a new product things do get a bit hectic for a couple of weeks but its all worth it in the end

you shouldnt have started many project at one time but since you ahve already started, now get focused on it and plan ahead, hope you gona see a success.

The only advice I can give you is plan and outsource!

Well outsource some of it then! If you are doing it well, you should be making more money than it costs to outsource, so find the right outsource strategy and get on with it!

Personally, I use oDesk for outsourcing, and only use fixed-price jobs, that way I know exactly what I will pay, and ONLY ever pay AFTER the worker has done the job to my satisfaction. I know for sure that if I pay hourly, the worker is going to work as slow as possible, and I'd rather reward success than failure

I have a large dry erase board above my desk where I will list the things I need to accomplish, hope to accomplish and wish I could accomplish for the next day. Everyday I go down the list and cross out what I've actually been able to do for the day I know that if I've hit the wish to accomplish section I've had a good day hahaha.

Get a VA to do some of your time consuming tasks or software to timely deliver some content...

That's the unfortunate thing about IM; It requires A LOT OF HARD WORK to succeed. Don't believe anyone who tells you otherwise.

The good thing is, you can outsource most of the time-consuming tasks and speed things up and relieve the burdens this way. The key there is to find people who really know their stuff and hire them on a long-term basis.

Now a few positive words; things get easier as you get established and more knowledgeable. When I was first starting out, I remember spending hours and hours on something that now takes me as little as 5 minutes. It takes time to learn and there is some learning curve to IM.

My suggestion is to prioritize your work, write out a "to do" list for each day and get the most important work done first. As your business grows and you make more money you can began to outsource some of the tasks.

I totally understand how you feel. I am having the same problem too and it is so overwhelming.

hey bud if there is 1 thing ive learnt over the years with IM is the most important thing, imho is FOCUS .. the more i tried to juggle too many different things the less i made money .. as soon as i FOCUSED on 1 niche and attacked it with full force, profitability increased for me personally .. just my 2 cents .. good luck !

Yes it can be hard. I like to do this:

1. Your time and resources are water in a jug
2. Your projects are empty glasses you're trying to fill

If you move between each glass all the time you will spill (waste time and resources) whereas if you just focus on filling one up at a time 100% you won't.

I regret having so many websites now. However, the good thing is that if I get bored on one project I just move to the other.

it's the I.M disease..... Greed i suspect. Jumping into industries chasing money you have no right to be in... Focus on one. It either makes it or it doesn't. Move on.

Everyone goes on about time management. multi tasking etc....no-one ever says "drop projects" Why? Why is everyine running 10+ biz's at the same time? No-one ever question this?

plan everything and do it. if you find it difficult then find someone to do it for you.
do one at a time finish it and then do the other don't do all the work together. take some time off in-between do something you like and then resume the work. this will make your mind fresh and to will give new ideas.

Try to go to gym 3 session per week. It can really you.

We can do many things at one time. The key is : find a good outsourcer

Indeed, we all have been through this. Set up priorities. If you still see that is unbarable, then postpone some things for the near future but be sure to do them or else you may prefer cut off things and at the end you will end up with nothing

Ideally, you only want at most 2-3 separate projects going at any given time. Otherwise, you will find that all of your projects are not getting the proper attention.

Unless most of the steps are outsourced, you will get quickly burnt out!

I completely understand what you're going through Tenzho. I'm in a similar boat as you are.

I run my hip hop beats website which I try my best to update frequently... so far, I've managed to create over the years, 500+ instrumentals that I have showcased on the site. But along with that comes promoting that site via Twitter, FB, forums, and more. That site by itself is a task and trying to create more instrumentals to keep the site updated is a task as well.

I then also run my own soundkits website (a spinoff of my instrumentals site since aspiring beat makers inquired on my sounds) to which I create and sell instrument sounds and drum sounds. Okay, that also takes some time to create new sounds and content to keep that site going, in addition to the hustle of promoting it via Twitter, FB, forums, etc.

I then have an ebook site that I try to maintain which has fallen behind due to trying to maintain the above two websites. I've sold some ebooks, but I could probably sell more if i redo the ebook and website. I haven't yet been able to do this due to trying to maintain the above sites, but I'm trying to as I managed to have sold a few ebooks over the website's life.

Add to that that I've also taken on a 4th project earlier this year, a Grocery Couponing guide ebook that I wrote after learning how to coupon and save money on my own groceries (geared and fueled by my unemployment and that groceries just cost too much LOL). I've tried to keep it going as well, testing and tweaking the site and sales copy. I haven't actually done an email list for it because I've not had the time to brainstorm what I could offer for free and to create an autoresponder list for it. I was blessed to sell 3 ebooks so far in its short lifetime, but, with not having the time for it that I'd like to put into it now, it's taken a backburner for now to some degree.

Take on with that a 5th project that's taken a backburner, a blog about our son to which I wanted to post about his growing up, how smart he is as he amazes us each day, and I wanted to gear it towards trying to also promote affiliate products and Adsense incomes. However, with the lack of time, I've not been able to gear it to where I want it to be.

And a 6th project, a hip hop beats blog site that I wanted to create for similar reasons to the above 5th project: gearing it to talk about hip hop beats, and trying to make it an affiliate promotions type website as well. It's taken the biggest backburner as I've been trying to focus on the 1st two projects above.

Funny enough, I have a 7th and 8th project in mind as well, but I haven't yet taken them on because I don't know where I'd find the time. Lol!

Now take all of those projects and the tasks of trying to promote on Twitter, FB, post on forums, do article promotions or squidoo promos and other things of that nature, etc. Time is limited.

And with that, since I am unemployed at this time and daycare is so costly to enroll our 2 year old in, I'm limited in the time that I have to work on these projects due to the demanding attention of a 2 year old.

So I completely feel your frustration and pain. There's gotta be a better way of time management. I wish I knew that I would make $2,000 a month. I would try my hardest to enroll our son in a full time daycare if I knew for a fact I could make the money that it would cost and extra.

Multiple projects is definitely rough, but I don't regret taking them on, especially since some of them have had a sale or two... shows me that there are potentials for them. Just have to try to find that balance to get things done. lol

I would get totally lost on what I need to do if I didn't keep a list. A schedule is too tight, and has to be changed too much due to outside influences.

Instead, I keep a master list in Excel of what needs to be done and cross it off when it is done.

I have a notebook I keep a daily list in. If I do something that is not on the list, I add it and check it off. This gives me an idea why I didn't complete everything I had already put on my list at the end of the day.

If something gets moved to the next day three days in a row, I reconsider how important that item is, and sometimes decide to discard it.

Every day, before ending my work, I start the list for the next day. The next morning, after checking e-mails and all my accounts, I add to the list as needed.

This also gives me something to check back and realize how much I am accomplishing.

Juggling isn't as hard if you stay organized. But if something keeps getting dropped, it either isn't that important to you, or you need to realign your work to move it up the list.

Besides, I get bored with just one or two projects running. Keeping several things in the air at once keeps me on my toes.

I wish I knew IM earlier in your age. I'm a student and IM'er too, right now I'm working with my thesis and I have list, niche sites, Google nag, content writing, and blah blah to manage. That's so frustrating sometimes!

I keep my own IM "book of shadows" where I recorded everything that works and doesn't, kind like journaling. It keeps everything in track .

What you've mentioned is something I think a lot of new people don't realize. Working for yourself is hard work!

I've worked in offices before and I had enough free time to spend a lot of it just surfing around the net. Now that I work for myself, however, I'm busy all day and don't have much time for anything leisurely until about 5 (when I quit for the day).

It can be exciting, though, and some of us do really well when we're challenged and under pressure. I know I can get bored with things rather quickly so the constant challenges help keep this stuff enjoyable.

One thing that's helped me keep track of everything is to have a calendar on the wall in my office. I make sure to write down deadlines and schedule things on it. Since it's right next to my desk I look at it all the time. It helps me visualize how much time I have this week and what I need to get done.

It also helps to do the things I don't want to do first. I may have 4 things I need to do one day. I'll do the least enjoyable first and then move on to something I enjoy more. I think this is important because leaving the undesirable stuff for last makes it so much harder to get it done.

I can totally relate as I run my own company as well as do my own SEO work which has really gone well after outsourcing to 2 different companies that did nothing for the keywords I needed. I now have taken on a friends SEO and have him 1st page for his most competitive keywords that 2 companies he hired did not do. I also have a family as well. Considering starting a small SEO service now.

I agree with the above. Make a to-do list and try to keep it simple but consistent
of daily tasks that will grow your business daily. It is like pushing a boulder up a hill and when it gains momentum and takes off, you will feel the fresh air of freedom and a job well done because you did not give up!

I think the keys here are

1. The Todo list for the day, week, month
2. Outsource the work that is taking your time
3. Do ONE Project at a time

Yes sometimes it can be over whelming juggling everything, Some days it feels like I have so much to do whereas other days I feel like I don't have much to do.
I outsource alot which helps greatly.

focus on the dream to keep you motivated. hard work is part of the process..

there's a fine line between working very hard to succeed and spreading too thin. be careful not to cross it.
If you're looking to have average success then it will work just fine. If you're looking to dominate a certain industry or income stream then you're 150% attention needs to be on it because you're competing with thousands that have in fact made it their #1,2, and 3 goals.

Think long term.....how long can you go on doing this? So reduce the list to a few things you can manage...for results. Pity there's no one-size-fits-all solution!

One thing I did learn in the rat race: you have to learn to pace yourself, and find that "sweet spot" (as in time and place) that will optimize your productivity. Once you find it, you'll find you're getting five or ten times as much done as you normally would outside that "sweet spot" (which is the norm).

It helps if you have a gatekeeper to run interference for you. Family, especially pets, and friends don't always think or remember how valuable this time is to you.

A few of the guys have already said this but concentrating on one thing at a time is key in my opinion.
I have been as guilty as anyone of being distracted by the next thing to drop into my inbox. But in the last month or two I have been super-focused on my first WSO and my membership site. The WSO was a great learning curve but it convinced me that my membership site was deserving of my undivided attention.
Net result - I have built a great free offer for my potential members and great content on the back end.
Now I will concentrate 100% on driving traffic to the asset I have built.

I have 4 projects coming out at the same time. It's called: "Not-having-a-life"

I'm glad I saw this thread. I find myself wandering a lot lately since coming to Warrior Forum. I already found a great idea, now it's just time to do the work. But now I see all these other ideas such as Article Marketing. I really need to stop looking at all this stuff and just build on Idea #1. Then once that is all set up and growing then I can go to Idea #2.

It is okay to have many projects as long as you know how to manage it and that nothing is left behind.

Its about task organization! Don't let the number of task fool you. You can finish it easier than it seem once you are all used to it. Do the things needed one by one. Slowly but surely. Once pressure gets into you you won't be able to finish anything.

I just gave up 2 of my project on focus only on: "writing article for adsense site" and "testing traffic and squeeze page conversion"

We all are here , just try to use a system , make first importnt thing that brings you instant cash for a few hours , then ddicate few hours to a long project.... Try to simplify all and get some jobs outsourced .

I regret having so many websites now. However, the good thing is that if I get bored on one project I just move to the other.

Stick with fiverr. Just cut the other projects.

Hire another VA and let him do all the work..lol
