This is very disturbing...JV forum

Guys I have notice a trend in the JV forum section and it is disturbing...here's the thing a lot of list owners are creating threads looking for JV partners and they are wording that way but what they are doing once you contact them is selling you solo ads I had a number of list owners sent me prices for solo ads when they are asking for JV's...

I find it dishonest as hell but I am not running their business and if you are selling solo ads in this IM niche then you are a fool, when you could be doing other things with your list and make 10 times the 100 dollar you get for a solo ad, what a waste...

    Hmm, I think I agree.

    If that section is turning into a ton of "buy access to my list" then perhaps we need a sub-forum for those people.

      Jill I agree with you it seems these people don't understand the concept of a JV, as I said it's the way they word their post that gets me piss...

    Is it a Joint Venture, Affiliate Opportunity, or Advertising Opportunity?

    Joint Ventures and Affiliate Opportunities have been used interchangeably for some time. It has always been annoying to someone like me who attributes meaning to the words used and expects the words to be used correctly. This is why some accuse me of being pedantic.

    Technically, an Advertising Opportunity is not a Joint Venture either, but since the JV sub-forum does not allow people to distinguish what they are offering with precise definition, then it is pointless to blame the people who do not use the language correctly... They are calling it as the forum has told them to call it...

      Bill sorry man but i don't agree and it doesn't matter how they word it and it has noting to do with the forum the forum says Joint Venture and not advertising forum...

      Nearly all of the solo ad sellers are asking for JV's only to turn around and try to sell you solo ads, I just believe if you are selling solo ads then blood hell just say that we understand they need the cash but stop the underhand stuff...i know what I mean bro...

    It seems that too many people are treating this forum as a cash machine and forgetting about creating a community!!!!

    I agree, maybe there should be a section for offering solo services,.............and agree its certainly misleading when JV is meant to mean working together for a greater gain! a JV is meant to work for both parties acheiving one goal!!!!

      Report each and every one that does this in that section. That isn't what that section is for. And I certainly wouldn't bother buying a solo ad from someone who apparently is either unable to afford or just too cheap to purchase an ad like they should.

        On occasion I have bought solo ads with great results, but I knew that is what I was doing. If someone is deliberately misleading potential purchasers or partners in the first place, that says something about how they do business.

    When I go to the JV section it's because I want to work or partner with the other members of this forum not be taken for a fool...selling a solo ad for 100 bucks how many of those can you do a week b4 that list isn't worth a pint of *+`´.. if you catch my drift...

    I responded to an ad there and of course as it turns out the person wanted to charge me $2500 to send to his list of 10k. I didn't even bother to respond back to that! Now I don't even go in that section any longer.

    It's been going on for years now in that forum.
    Last time I noticed there were 3 or 4 people in there
    keeping each others posts bumped.
    Looks like even they've given up now Lol.
