Is this a great idea to get traffic?

I just wanted some input on this new way to get traffic im going to try.

I know scribd and document sharing sites have high pr so i was thinking about uploading my ebooks and documents with all the keywords incorporated and then building backlinks to that ebook or document.

The ebooks and documents will have call to actions and links point them to my squeeze page. You think it could be possible to get these ranked quickly with edu backlinks?

    The basic IDEA of using scribd and other document sites have been around for quite a while now. It doesn't hurt to try out your own twist.

    You may never know what results come of your action, but if you do nothing there will be no results.

    There are also lots of "free ebook" sites out there too - put your stuff up on them aswel. Put you affiliate links in there and url of your own site and with a bit of luck they will start to get shared around the web.

    I understand how to use the ebook directories and all that...My question was do you think making backlinks to where my book is uploaded would be a good idea?

    The thing is, it is not really targeted, its willy nilly people coming along and seeing and search for stuff, and going "oh cool this report on cat grooming looks good i THink I will download it"

    It can get you extra traffic though.

    The reason I said it is not really targeted is that its not people in the buying mentality. We are always hunting for people that are BUYERS or in that BUYERS MENTALITY!... and this is not the place, it can still be good for lookers and to get people into your funnels....that is why we use it from time to time and even outsource it too.
