Very cool share Gareth,

Good idea about the green hover button... not that hard to do... just need to break up the image, create the green button, then add a js or css hover to the link.

P.S. Wasn't Frank Kern's recent launch 'buy button' just like this one, a bit smaller and less stuff if I recall, just the 'Add to cart' button wasn't it?

all you need to do just draw a green border around the button (over the red one), and save it as a second file. then change the image on the mouse-over with some javascript.

  0. Rt Click, view the image here and then copy the url.
  1. Load the image from the URL in the editor,
  2. Erase the text you wish to change with a background erase.
  3. Pick the text color with the eye dropper tool
  4. Select Arial font and type the text you want on a new layer
  5. Move and size it in the right spot
  6. If you wish to strike it out, you'll have to draw a line using the line tool.
  7. Save it
  
  This took me about 5 minutes.
  
  It ain't perfect but the price is right for a tool that does 90% of what Photoshop Elements does.

  getpaint.net is a Photoshop alternative. That should do everything you need to touch it up, and it's totally free. Good luck.

Correct, Jason. But in the, "Things that make you go 'hmmm'" category, Perry doesn't even use the button on all of his sites.

I've seen him use it on his latest and also one of his niche products.

Plus, I'm sure he has stuff that's been out and about for a while that he's too lazy to change,
but still makes him a ton of money.

And sure, it may help boost order rate, but your salesletter must do a good enough job
to get them down that far in the first place

The best converting order button won't make up for poorly written copy.

Your headline is and always will be the most important part of your salesletter.

Here is the script you can use to create the changing buttons:

1. Replace images/rollover1.jpg inside the quotes with the url for the 1st image (red button)or the images that is displayed when the mouse is anythere but over the button.
2. Replace the mages/rollover2.jpg with the image (green button) that will appear when the mouse is over it.

Thanks so much for this...it's a great find for sure.

Anytime someone actually TESTS something and reveals their results...I make a note of it.

In fact, I swiped Clayton Makepeace's Copy from the recent Formula Five Launch...his second version became the control for the salesletter...

AND...

Voila...this is the order button they used on that salesletter page.

probably he test the new one.

The orange color draws the human eye.

It's the same reason the "black boxes" of airplanes are actually not black - they are orange.

Amazon.com has been using orange buttons for years. They have enough traffic to test this stuff and see what works ;-)
