Some wise words from a very smart man

My wife was reading some of Jim Rohn's comments to me, and I thought I would share them. They are very motivational. It is too bad he died at such a young age.

"How much should you earn? As much as you possibly can. It doesn't matter whether you earn $10,000 a year or $1,000,000 a year as long as you've done the best you can." -- Jim Rohn

"Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have." -- Jim Rohn

"There are some things you don't have to know how it works-- only that it works. While some people are studying the roots, others are picking the fruit. It just depends which end of this you want to get in on." -- Jim Rohn

"The major value in life is not what you get. The major value in life is what you become. That is why I wish to pay fair price for every value. If I have to pay for it or earn it, that makes something of me. If I get it for free, that makes nothing of me." -- Jim Rohn

"Something will master and something will serve. Either you run the day or the day runs you; either you run the business or the business runs you." -- Jim Rohn

Jim was a network marketer and motivational speaker. But these quotes apply just as much to internet marketing. So I thought I would share them. If you want to see more of him, visit his official page Jim Rohn | Facebook

Hope you enjoyed this.

May his soul rest in piece.

If you subscribe to success it will follow you all the days of your life, you don't have to make the money in physical but be able to impact positively on the lives of people.

    His quotes are really inspiring.

Thanks for the quotes from Jim Rohn.

Back in November 1999, I attended a Brian Tracy seminar
in London, England and was fortunate to meet my very
      first millionaire mentor.

I asked him who had influenced him the most and he
      unhestitatingly said: Jim Rohn.

Ever since then, I've been an avid student of Jim Rohn
and have just about every program he ever produced.

My favorite audio is his The Art of Exceptional Living
which is available via Nightingale Conant.

My favorite Jim Rohn quotes include...

"Failure is errors in judgement, repeated every day."

"Success is simple disciplines practised every day."

"Don't go searching for the exotic, until you're doing
      the basics."

Here's a classic video of Jim Rohn :

"To get paid more you need to bring more value to the marketplace"

      Don't agree with a couple.

I'd rather make 20K and have a fun life, than make 100k and work 60 hrs per week.

I'd rather "get" stuff than be sitting in a nursing home thinking how good I've become.

        Hi Fin,

        How about turning that around.

I'd rather make 100k a year and have a fun life, than make 20k and work 60 hours per week.

Rather be lounging in a nice villa next to the beach, than thinking to get "stuff".

            Hi Fin,

Jim Rohn has always talked about VALUE and how to transform ourselves into VALUABLE people.

So ... retiring in a villa is a whole lot better than being at an old folks home.

I'm not dissing the guy. I just don't agree with those 2 quotes, but maybe it's the wording.

Maybe if it said, "make as much as you can while having a fun life," I'd agree.

Until this thread, I had no idea who Jim Rohn was; guess I'll have to do some research now, because these quotes were awesome, especially this one from the OP:

I'd heard of Jim Rohn, but never listened to any of his stuff or read his quotes before this thread.

He sounds like a man that really knows his stuff... although, just by the 4 minute video Shaun posted above, I can tell how he emphasizes words may start to irritate me after a while.

My favorite quote so far also comes from Shaun's video...

"Learn to work harder on yourself, than you do on your job". Awesome.

Funny you should mention that Trevor.

Around 2000, my first millionaire mentor gave me a set
of Jim Rohn tapes to listen to. I put them in the tape
deck and could barely listen to even the first side!

The way Jim Rohn spoke irritated the hell out of me so
I didn't really listen to, nor benefit from, his highly valuable
      message until years later.

That's when I learned the crucial difference between
listening to the message instead of just listening to the
      messenger.

Over the years, I've gotten to like Jim Rohn's message
and delivery style more and more and go over his materials
      regularly.

"If you work hard on your job, you'll make a living.
If you work hard on yourself, you'll make a fortune."

Incidentally, a lot of Jim Rohn's wisdom comes directly from
      his own mentor, Earl Shoaff.

Jim has the right idea about living. To me, living is all about working hard, earning as much as you can, and enjoy your life to the fullest, afterall life in this world is short.
And the only thing that can fulfill all three criteria is a job called internet marketing, which I guess is why all of us are getting into it.

Jim Rohn was my MASTER far-away mentor for YEARS, especially in
the lowest points of my life. I stumbled upon his messages after my
graduation from the University and have never held a paid job ever,
thanks to him and the many others like Brian Tracy, Les Brown, etc.

This thread... and many other similar ones, of people talking about
his teachings, his books, his quotes, etc are the EXACT reason why
Jim did all that he did, before he died. He knew he would die, like we
all will, but he wanted to LIVE BEYOND himself
    .

In his exact words about THIS THREAD and others like it all over:

... the things we do, whether it’s sharing an idea from the podium or in books, tapes or
videos, is a chance to have a bit of immortality after we’re gone. I’ve got this vision
of someone, after I’m gone, up in the attic of an old home, going through a box of old,
dusty books, and there’s one of my books.

Sure enough, they dust it off, they read it and maybe use it as a guideline to teach others.
After I’m gone, the words I said that got printed or recorded may benefit someone, I’m
sure, on and on for years to come
. Someone once said, “An idea never dies.” Even after
you’re gone, it lives on. One person tells 10, those 10 tell 1,000, so no telling how many
people can be directly and indirectly influenced if you just take the time to share.

You don’t have to give lectures and seminars for it to happen. If you recommended a
book to someone you cared about
, on a Tuesday morning at Denny’s, years later, someone
might say to that person, “Wow, you’ve got some success going. When did it all start?”

They say, “Strange you should ask. A few years ago, on a Tuesday morning, I was having
breakfast at Denny’s with this friend of mine. He recommended this book and said it really
benefited his life. I got the book, that started me on a brand new journey and here’s part
of the reason for all of this success today.”

It’s not like you have to give big seminars or talk to 1,000 people to affect somebody’s
life. Just pass along something valuable at breakfast at Denny’s on a Tuesday morning.

Indeed, Jim Rohn... you ABSOLUTELY live on and you are touching more
lives every single day... and will continue to do so.

Thank you, Jim... for how PHENOMENALLY INSTRUMENTAL you were to my
life and the lives of many, all over the world. Adieu, good sir. You LIVED a
    good life!

Legend. I put my achieving millionaire status down to, in large part, Jim Rohn's superb book "7 Strategies for Wealth and Happiness" and recommend it to everyone in my Insider's Circle. I read it once a year, it is outstanding.

    Those are absolutely amazing quotes.

For me it's all about enjoying the money making process. If I stop enjoying it I know it's time to get out of that particular venture. That's not to say every moment has to be enjoyable but there is a tipping point where you just know your heart isn't in something anymore.

Also, I would never let my work be all consuming at the expense of actually enjoying life. If you have tons of cash but don't have time to enjoy it what's the point?

Considering that Jim Rohn was Tony Robbins' mentor, we can all benefit from his wisdom. An excellent quote of his that I always keep in mind is:

Jim Rohn was one of the classic masters and a true gentleman if I ever met one. I met him once at a seminar during my college days and the one thing that I remember from him were his eyes. They had this gentle understanding that's become a rarity these days.

He passed away at age 79 and touched a lot of people's lives around the world (still does). Thanks for the reminder. You may view his tribute page here:
