Value of Email List Subscriber Got From Free Offers

I offer free SEO software to people but haven't yet implemented aweber into it.

A lot of gurus say that value of an email list subscriber should be at least $ 1 per subscriber per month.

Does this rule apply to list obtained through free offers? Free software, free reports and other freebies?

I want to target IMers in general and specifically SEO newbies and experts.

What is the value per subscriber/Mo I can expect from list obtaianed through free offers?

Thanks

It is absolutely valuable. Alex Jeffreys (an IM Star) bases his business around giving away free reports and products in order to build a list. I cant tell you exact conversion rates but I can assure you that there is value within it.

If the email lead is quality traffic , i believe it worth more than $1. Because you can earn 10 times more with the email leads.
It not only new sales, it is the best way to earn repeat sales from email to existing customers.

you have to know something, you have to send to your list subscribers offers in the same subject they subscribed for even if it was free or paid.
i tried that and it worked very well for me.

Also consider that by offering them free reports or seo services or whatnots you are establishing relationships and relationships establish trust and trust means when you send them something that involves a purchase, they will take that email into strong consideration. So while I understand the angle of $1 per person per month or whatever, I would not look at it in terms of per email you send, instead your conversion rate for sales, i think, would be significantly higher. Hope that helps

The value of your subscriber is proportionate to the value you give to them. You may give them a free gift to get their email address, but if that gift does not provide HIGH VALUE then you can expect to get a low conversion rate for future promotions. Find the best possible gift you can find and give it away for free. Even if you have to go out and purchase a $100 plr product.

If I join your list for a free offer and it doesn't blow me away...guess what? I will NOT value anything you promote to me in the future. I will value your competitors products instead, providing they gave me a gift of higher value than yours.

All newbies are on many lists. What makes you stand apart from the others? Why should I look forward to your next email? The truth is, if you blow me away with a free gift, then you can be damn sure I'm going to remember you.

    In conclusion:
Offer me something that sets you apart from the other marketers lists I have joined. ALWAYS aim to over deliver, and ALWAYS provide higher value than what other marketers are giving. If you can't match them for value, then aim to offer something that is unique and different.
