Hello, I am new here. Is this analytcs worth installing in a blog? I am not sure I would even be able to use the information collected. Is there some basic guide for inexperienced users like myself?

It depends on what you are doing with your blog, or how curious you are. I'm the curious type: I like to know how many people are coming to all my blogs even the personal ones. And, it's essential if you are using your blog to make money. For example, analytics will tell you where people are coming from. I found out that I was getting a lot of traffic from a forum, so I joined in the conversation for more leads.

IMHO, Analytics is worth installing. As an Internet Marketer, you should always track your business and tweak it to improve the performance as well as your profit.

I had set up my first blog today in blogger.com. I don't know much about google Analytics. And i didn't know if there is any way to check the blog's analytics. I was just thinking that it would be better if i can track how much traffic i'm getting to my blog. I'm very glad that i saw this post when i needed it.

The analytics software does more than just tell you how many people are visiting your site, it will also tell you many other stats like what keywords your traffic is using to find you and where they are coming form.

If you started getting a lot of traffic you would like to know if it was coming from a search engine and which one or if your visitors found you through a link that someone else has on their site.

Someone else could have a blog and make a post about your site then you would get this big rush of traffic and then it could die off and you would have a hard time trying to figure out what happened and why.

It's good to know where your traffic comes from and what keywords they used to find you.
