How Do I Transfer A Wordpress Site???

Hello Warriors,

I have been contacted by a local company that wants to buy my wordpress site that i created some months back. Its keyword rich and gets only 5-10 visits aday.

I haven't really been spending much time with it, but it sits between page 1 and page 2 on Google UK

I have agreed a price but my question is how do i transfer the site to them?

I know i can push the domain name through godaddy but what about the actual site?

any help here would be greatly appreciated :confused:

    If you want to transfer the site for them (with access to their cpanel), this plugin is super easy:

    If they just want you to send them the files, then this is a good resource:

    If all else fails, its easy to hire someone from the forum to do it for you

    Try an export-import wordpress plugin, it's free. This will transfer all contents, pictures, comments from old site to the new WP site - and set the permalink format matched between the old and new site, i.e. if you set /post-name/ in the old site you have to set this in the new site too. If the permalink unmatched there would be problem.

    I transfered my WP website too when I first purchased the domain.

    Transfer the domain over to them. Give them FTP access and tell them they have 10 days to transfer this themselves! Otherwise Just move everything over to the new host including files and database.

    Hey man, wptwin could surely be of help to you. You will just clone the site and you are good to go. Even the comments will be copied.
