What you send to your list

Just checking to see what you all are doing. I have a list and I want to send them a newsletter I will be including tips and other information they could use. I want to include a like to a free product and one they would need to purchase. Have any of you done this? Should I not include both?

I think you should not include the free product because people in your list will just grab the free product and they will Ignore the product which they need to purchase.

It depends, if you give away a free product you have to make sure its excellent and of really high value.

If you give away a crappy freebie, with no real useful information, then your subs will think the same of you.

Also the biggest mistake I see new list builders make is to giveaway the farm. If every email from you is another free video or eBook then you will build a list of freebie seekers and never make money.

That said, you should never try to sell your list crappy products, be honest, recommend what you have tried, what you love, everything you recommend to your list should be an awesome product, if you do this your list will love you and the products you recommend will sell themselves.

I agree with Ryan. So many marketers overlook this and wonder why their open rates, and click through rates are so low.

Also try this sometimes. Give your list something inspirational every once in a while. Type everything you need to say in the email. BUT don't include a link anywhere in the email.

Now your list will be more likely to think that you are actually trying to help them, instead of just trying to make more money off of them.

This way, when you do promote stuff, your list will be much more likely to open those emails as well because they trust you more.

    Hope this helps
