Crazy Web Marketing - Toyota

I just came across this on an auto marketing site..

Although I'm not a huge fan of this sort of thing, I thought it was very intriguing. From what I could find on it, apparently it's going to be released as a web series, focusing mostly on story but with a sufficient amount of Toyota "plugs" (as you can see in the trailer video). And, I mean, it looks just plain crazy!

I don't know much about this type of marketing, but I do know that this is an incredibly large and lucrative market they're going after with this sort of thing.

Being a marketing major and fairly new in this world, I want to dive deeper and learn more about this approach and to look into past attempts at this sort of series-based marketing. It seems risky, since I know it's not cheap to produce, but with the demographic they're focusing on, the risk/reward seems substantial.

Does anyone know of any other examples from companies that have done this certain sort of thing on a large scale like this?
