Can you get approved to Affiliate network without a website?

Can this be done? If so, any tips?

The reason that I would want to do this is that I would prefer to see what products they have to offer before I build my site.

Thanks,
Trav

In my opinion, you should be finding you Affiliate program based on your website, not choosing your website based on your Affiliate program. Some people might disagree, but, especially if you're planning on making a blog, you should make that first. There's no point in writing about something you don't know about!

I fully agree with CodeBotics, especially if this is your first affiliate web site.

Build a niche web site based upon something that you know, and then find an affiliate program that fits that niche.

Affiliate managers generally want to see a web site before they add you as an affiliate. Most merchants do not want affiliates who build crappy sites.

First, think what you want to do.
Are you an expert or have lots of knowledge about something?
      What are you passionate about?

Make a list of things you would like to make your blog about. As long as it's nothing too specific, there will be affiliate offers available.

One place to go is Clickbank. You don't even need to register to look at their products. Just go to Marketplace - the tab on the top of the web page and search by categories for any product there. Make sure too look at the stats, especially gravity. It shows how popular the product is - higher number is better, but I don't suggest getting anything that is under 10.

Good luck! Let me know if you need more help

P.S. There are some poker affiliate products available on Clickbank but with low gravity

Jon Morrow told me that Clickbank products are garbage!

I don't want to sell garbage. I need quality products.

You see, this is the BIG problem in affiliate marketing. New affiliates like myself have no clue what is even available to sell because we do not have membership to affiliate networks. It is an unfair advantage because you guys are making big bucks selling the good stuff like weight loss products or stop smoking products and all we get is the crappy oversaturated amazon and clickbank products.

Not all of them are garbage. You just need to find good ones. And yes serious affiliate networks want experience marketers joining them or you need someone to recommend you. If you are interesting in CPA offers, try CPA Saw, that's the one I first joined without having any experience in IM. For those sites that need you to show them website, I suggest you find a keyword, get a product from Clickbank to promote and fully concentrate on getting traffic to the site. That way you will have something to show.

If you want, go for a competitive niche but instead of trying to rank in Google, use other methods - participate in related forums, answer questions on Answer sites, make a video for low competitive keyword in the niche, put good quality comments under videos with high amount of views, make a Twitter account and get followers. These are just some ideas...

NO! Wrong! There are no poker affiliate products!

Therefore I must choose another and start over.

Plus you have to sell what the people want. It's just the way it is.

So once again, I need to know how to get approved?

xTrav, it's also possible that you just hire freelancer writer to create an ebook, and make your site useful, or just to outsource the articles for your site and build up an email list + google adsense or something?

    It's just a suggestion.

Yes off-course its possible to get approved with them with no site, what you should is
give them a call and talk to them explaining exactly what you just wrote here.
They are human also and understand.

    Good luck.
