I am interested in turning one of my sites into a membership site. This is new to me. Can anyone suggest a site that I can look at to get a general site format?

What plugins do I need?

It depends on what CMS you are using....

If you are using wordpress the aMember Plugin is what you will need.....

However if you need further step by step help I would be glad to do so.....

    All the best.....

  • To give you some advice we must know in which platform your site has been build. There has different plugin for different CMS.
So it would be good if you can share your sites link here.

Hi Chris, Sorry you posted this a couple of weeks ago and I am just now responding.

It really depends on what type of things you want to do with your membership site.

There are some plugins like S2 Member or WishList member that plugin to Wordpress and do your membership without needing anything else.

However if you want to do things like run an affiliate program so you can have people refer clients to you... then aMember has it built in. With the other software you'd need to buy a separate plugin or software to manage affiliates (or run all your payments through a 3rd party like clickbank which will manage your affiliates.)

Do you plan to have downloadable content? Video content? How do you protect the content? Again aMember can protect the content so someone can't just link directly to your video.

If you can reply back with some more about what you want to do, and what your goals are, we can help you decide which software is best for you. (We meaning my partner and I.)

    Chris,

It really just depends on what you're using it for... training materials, protected blog posts, delivering monthly content, etc.

If we knew a little more about what it is your site will include, we might be able to steer you in the right direction as far as what platform to use.

If you are not tech-savy, I would say Kajabi's platform if you are delivering video/pdf type content. They also have a membership based community forum and other features. Check out their website for full feature list. Let me know how it's going for you, because I also have plans about create two membership websites/blogs, one for internet marketing education, the other healthy living niches. What niche are you thinking about?
