best book for internet marketing?

I am one of those grad students with a degree but jobless, so I decided to take it up on my self to make money.

I was wondering if you have good resources for learning internet marketing through and through. Books?

I want to really master this craft, so that in less than 10 years I could be making money with it. I am not looking for a quick get money fast scheme.
I know it all takes hard work but it would be great if I could get some guidance.

By the way, do you guys think that 12 dollars for a 35 page ebook is reasonable?

thanks

I HIGHLY suggest Armand Morin. His stuff is a bit pricey, but for a reason. He gives out plenty of useful information and always teaches from newbie to professional and goes over everything with proper details.

If you are looking for cheaper, just surf around in the WSO section here and see what you find. Read the comments from other users before making a purchase and see if it is right for you.

    Hi!

Nice to be a part of the WF community!

OP, I can highly recommend a book by Chris Brogan called The Zen of Social Media Marketing. No matter if you want to work with SEO, affiliate marketing or whatever, you will need to implement social signals to your strategy.

    Best of luck!

I'd suggest making good use of Warrior Forum and the information available in it.
You can also consider War Room membership. Besides that, marketing blogs are great
    source of information.

See what IM models are there, choose one, focus on it and read only about it. When
you grasp the basics, create a simple plan and act on it immediately. Implement what
you learn and you will learn more like that and hone your skills.

The right information on 35 pages written by a true success is a steal at $12. That same 35 pages written by a pretender is worth manure. And I've got to warn you, manure is almost certainly what you are going to get. That's the name of the game in these parts. Fail at making money online, so take what you do know (which is worthless) and sell it to a total newbie who doesn't know any better. You just need to understand this is what's going on so you don't get caught up into it.

Instead of looking for an ebook with all the info you need, just post very specific questions to the forum.

      Hey there!

That's a great attitude to start off with! Too many start here with the hopes of instant money. First I would try and figure out what area of internet marketing you want to focus on. In order to do that, look at skills you already have and this forum. Get a general idea of what you think you'd be good at.(copywriting, web design, logos, product creation, etc)
Once you know the direction you want to head in, look for books on that subject.
The War Room is a great investment! There is more information in there than most people know what to do with.
In regards to the post about the ebook, I agree with DubDubDubDot. It all depends on the quality of the information. Without looking at it ahead of time, who the author is a good way of finding out the possible quality. Although, unknown authors come out all the time with amazing content.

I totally agree with JoeMartin, know what IM niche you're passionate about and spend a lot of time here on WF you will learn a lot and when you pick up Ebooks don't look at the names but the feedbacks from other warriors. Also try to learn some technical skills (photoshop, wordpress, basic html), keyword research and copy writing, they come in really handy later on.

Many sellers are trading positive feedback with one another. And when the feedback is genuine, it's being left too soon to be taken seriously. It may take days, weeks or even months to see if something works, yet newbie buyers are ready to give positive feedback 2 hours after reading the material. That makes no sense, but you see it all the time.

If I were you I would keep up to date with what is going on around the net at various news sites and blogs like Google's blog. I would also participate and try to follow what's going on through message boards like this one.

But regarding buying a book on the subject. I would highly suggest not doing so, as most of the books out there are not very good. The only way you learn anything in this field in my experience, is by trial and error. It doesn't matter what someone says in a book, if a certain technique doesn't get people to sign up for a list, a certain technique doesn't get people to sign up for a list.

The best internet marketing university is the school of trial and error.

Better than a book, read the forums, read blogs, once you've ready enough for a test run, invest a small amount of money and run traffic to an offer. Trial and error, keep improving and you will get there.

There are a lot of ways to make money online.

    * Providing services like writing or graphics
    * Promoting products as an affiliate
    * Adding Adsense to high quality sites
    * Creating your own products
    * Selling web services to offline clients

Do you know yet which path you want to take?

If so, do some research here on the warrior forum and read all you can about it.

You may also want to join the War Room before you start buying WSOs. A lot of the same WSOs and information is in there for free.

You asked for a book recommendation. If you are looking for a general book about becoming successful at internet marketing, I would recommend the Chronic Marketer.

Amazon.com: Chronic Marketer: Confessions Of A Half-Baked (But Highly Paid) Internet Marketer (Volume 1) (9781470158644): Brad Gosse: Books

It was written by Brad Gosse, one of the Warriors here.

going off my own experience, there are way to many books and information out there on IM... i had a load of information overload. So i cleared myself mentally and started all over again.

I used the Warrior forum, to understand what IM is, what different business models are available, and which one i wished to learn, and stick to and build a business around that model which is what i am currently doing.

The war room, has alot of free and good solid content information, to get you started. this forum in general is a very good source to learn and understand IM industry alot more quicker and see what skills you have and need to learn 1 step at a time .

use this forum wisely, and teach yourself, thats what i did for 8 months and man o man, did i learn alot. since i have started applying what i know so far massive difference, you will eventually get into buying books just to help structure, and enhance your education of IM that's what I have found with IM, and i trully love it.

Paula is definitely on the right track...you want to first understand the "type" of online business that you see yourself running.

Do you like to write, record or shoot (video) content? Then find a niche where there is collective interest and build strong content in line with information that niche is looking for...you can then monetize via affiliate marketing or ad revenue

Do you have the desire to write your own book or ebook? If so, then you will want to learn everything there is about information marketing

Would you rather run e-commerce sites where you sell tangible stuff...then the marketing training you will need for that will be somewhat different.

Spend some time looking at leading sites and understanding the different business models, then quickly determine the one that you are attracted to the most...then you can target your learning toward your optimal business model.

Go here and subscribe: TalkBiz News

Download the full-length book that comes with the subscription and wear out your copy. Learn what that book has to teach, and the rest of the stuff you might want to learn will be pretty obvious, at least to start.

I second that recommendation, it's a great book to read in your case where it seems you don't have a specific type of business in mind yet. It covers a hell of a lot, and the emails are some of the only ones that I actually look for in my inbox.
