Google Drive, What is your opinion?

Google has officially launched Google Drive.

https://drive.google.com/

Official Google Blog: Introducing Google Drive... yes, really

5GB free, upgrade up to 16TB available.

The price is much lower than Dropbox and other cloud storage solution.

https://www.google.com/settings/storage/?hl=en

100 GB for $4.99 / Month, 200 GB for $9.99 / Month.

What do you think of Google Drive? Will it beat Dropbox?

I think that it will beat. Most of us have Google accounts and we are already in. So, we can start using Google Drive in 1-2 clicks with more GB for free and less cost per GB. I am waiting for official opening, because DropBox is not my choice at all.

It's good a good chance of beating dropbox. A lot of people have Gmail accounts today and if they make a Google Drive app for Android that's a whole lot of potential users for this new service.

I've not looked too closely at Google drive. It sounds promising at $2.50 a month. But I'm not sure I trust Google. Although I'm pretty sure my personal files wouldn't have anything to do with websites, with what Google has been doing as far as de-indexing sites, I'm not sure if I would trust them with my personal stuff, which could include HTML files for websites I've created. Maybe I'm just feeling a little paranoid. Maybe these two issues are completely unrelated.

Can't be too careful -- too much is at stake, and too easy to just get switched off.

I will just continue using dropbox. May be users who are yet to start using such services will go for Google Drive.

I think Google Drive is going to be a major threat to Dropbox. It's difficult to compete with Google who seems to have endless pockets and resources, so it's going to be interesting to see how the folks at Dropbox responds.
