Using Reseller Hosting not to resell but to manage own sites? Do you?

Reseller hosting is sold as a package for people who want to resell hosting under their own brand. But I just thought of it - why not use it to host own websites under separate cpanels instead of having all addon domains in a single cpanel.

With each site under separate cpanel, it will be easy to sell the sites and also move it to other hosts when the need arises.

Anybody doing like that already?

Yes. I prefer to use reseller plans for my own sites.

It is great to have a separate cpanel for each site for a variety of reasons. If one site needs customization. Or if you want to sell a site. I have a resellers account and love it and do not sell hosting.

    Deepak,

That is exactly what I do. It's just quicker and easier to setup a new site than waiting for my hosting provider to do it. I can configure it any way I like and change it too quickly.

I have a reseller account for all of my domains. I find it easier to track this way. It also makes it easier to flip sites and sell them.

I have aprox 50 clients who host with me each month so my reseller account pays for itself and I am making a nice profit on top of it.

I would recommend reseller to anyone just getting into IM as to transfer all your domains over can be a lengthy process.

I've used reseller hosting for a few years now. It's not necessary, but I do find it convenient having each site with a separate cpanel.

Great. I am planning to buy a reseller hosting account from hostgator with the basic package and then upgrade if needed.

Anyone with alternate recommendations for hosting provider?
