Webservice Launch - Advice for generating traffic

Hi Folks,

This is my first post, kindly go easy on my noobness.

After months of coding the front-end and the back-end, I have finally launched my webservice.

Very briefly, this is a platform where people can trade their goods in two different ways :
1) Barter Transaction - Users can list their item and can trade that for another item of a different seller (e.g., Mary lists a novel and wants to exchange it with Jane for some other book on cooking).
2) Bit Barter Transaction - Users can list their items for sale and charge digital credits. The credits they receive will be tied to their account which they can use to buy other items available on the bitbarter.in plaltform.

Signup is FREE and there are no listing/commission fees as of now.

Here are my questions :
1) How would I generate traffic for such a webserive/platform?
2) What different methods can I use to generate traffic my site?

My main focus is to bring users to the platform and encourage them to USE the platform. I do have some ideas for monetization but I will implement them once there is sufficient traction.

Also, if any forum member has feedback, I am grateful and most happy to listen to the feedback.
