The domain name is only one small part of it. First you need to decide how you plan to monetise the site - how exactly are you going to make money from it? Advertising (Google Adsense for example), affiliate marketing (selling other people's products for a commission), or creating your own products are the 3 most obvious, but there are others.

You need to have a clear strategy of what you want to do. Look for other sites in the same niche to get ideas - just search google for the main keywords. See how they design their sites, and how they are monetised - learn from what is already working for others.

  • You need to have a think about what you intend to do with the site and that will help you come up with a name. So its about soccer, but, you know, so what? What about soccer is it actually focusing on? Is it about the pro league, about improving your own game, about training techniques, about ball skills, what uniform colour goes best with brunettes, etc, etc? Once you figure that out, think about what words relate to your sites purpose and then do some brainstorming. For example, my husband runs a football site, not soccer, Aussie Rules, and its specifically about one area, training, so his site isn't just called 'footy' or 'howtotiptowin' or any other random thing, the name focus's on being about training.

If you don't yet know what your site is going to focus on, use your facebook page to help work it out. Ask your likers what they want a site about, or go back through the activity and see what sort of topics come up.
