What's Stopping You?

Hey Guys,

Was just thinking with such a division between people making money online and people still to make their first sale - if you are in the latter group what is stopping you?

With all of the info that you need right here on the forum for FREE to make money what do you need?

Of course you do need to be able to sort it all out, dedicate yourself to one strategy and keep on going.

But I thought I would ask:

How long have you been trying to make money online?

What do you think is stopping you?

What would help you?

          I think some people start this and don't realize how hard it is going to be and how much actual work they have to put into it and then quit. That's what I really think. The others - they'll make it - in time.

        Saddling too many stuff hoping one of them will work. Of course the end result is confusion and ultimately, shuffling the list to include even more stuff. If one could just pick one and work on it like mad, success would follow. Of course working alone may not bring the desired result. Working on the right stuff in the right way does bring results.

        If you are using Freemind, GO to the File menu, choose Export As PDF. Give it a name and you are done!

    The main problem is that there are so many scams in the make money online niche and there are so many people who promise that anyone can make thousand dollars per day by just working a few hours. This makes newbies believe that it is easy and doesn't require work so when they realizing that this is not possible they give up. The only way to succeed online or offline is to be passionate about what you are doing and take action with hard work (especially in the beginning)...

    It's a mindset issue. There are ways around it, but what helps me is listening to mentors who have the right mindset.

    I did a seminar I think 2006 or 2007 not sure and Preston Ely spoke there, if you can spend some time listen to this guy and how he overcomes roadblocks. Preston sold thousands of an ebook online the first time he went online via a simple site. I'm the guy in the video introducing Preston but if you listen to the video I think it will help.


    The other thing I would advise is get a coach the reason is so they can keep you accountable and install belief. I had a bunch over the years and I still have others even today and will do so in the future. Very few people have coaches not sure why.

    PSS: Ignore that it's about probate focus on the mindset it will work in any niche not just real estate.

      Think you are spot on ^

      I think it actually gets to the point where people are almost willing it to be a scam as well.

      What I mean is that if you can say "This is a scam it doesn't work!" then that means you are not to blame.

      Of course you are right that there is a lot of crap out there too.

      Like you say - you need to make something a passion to be good at it.

        Thanks Chris,

        And it's tough for me to learn the right mindset I came from a Communist country with entitlement mentality so it took me time to adapt the american mindset which is why I like the way Preston explains it.

    I think a big challenge is finding the business model that works well for the individual. We know that everything works when it comes to driving traffic (article marketing, seo, ppc, etc.) and as it relates to your monetization model (own product, affiliate marketing, adsense, cpa, etc.)

    However, the challenge for many is figuring out what works for them according to their skill set, interests, and resources. It is easy to read about someone making $15,000 a month and say "I am going to do that."

    So you "dabble" in it and say it doesn't work, when in reality the business model was not a good fit for your skill set or interests.

    So now they are off to the next shiny object, never building momentum and starting from scratch all of the time to learn the "new" thing.

    BTW. I have been doing and learning IM off and on for a few years. I've made money with adsense and affiliate marketing but nothing major, a few hundred dollars per month.

    It's a mentality thing, some want $xxxxxxx right now without thinking past the dollar sign while others get what's called information overload. It can be a multitude of things but one has to remember to just take action and not get caught up in the next new shiny thing!
