Totally agree with stan07 - use the Search button as a best friend of yours! Will save you a lot of time and effort if you know the direction in which you want to go. The plethora of resources at your disposal here in the WF may amaze you, but do not let it get to you with respect to information overload. Scrutinize what is for you and what is not for you well enough and then watch the place transform into Utopia

Hi Kory,

Can I give you a bit of advice that could save you about 12 months of your life and hundreds of dollars?

I say that because most of us have done both of those, in the search to find our niche in internet marketing.

When you get on here, and when you get a few dozen email lists, you get bombarded with offers, webinar invites, tips and tricks, coaching offers, ads, banners, etc on 20+ subjects.

You start thinking, "I could do offline marketing...or SEO services...or Youtube mktg...social media...site flipping...product creation...affliliate mktg...ppc........

Overload, which leads to procrastination, which leaves your projects half done and non-productive (in other words, lots of time and effort spent, with no cash to show for it!)

SO....

...best advice is this:

1. make a list of skills that you have, ie writing, speaking, teaching, video skills, graphic design, etc

2. make a list of topics or niches where you have expertise, experience or passion

3. pick the top three in each list, where you are strongest

4. Reseach those topics, to see if there is a profitable market in each (the Warriors can help you with that)

5. Focus your energies on THOSE TOPICS ONLY.....and ignor all the others--until you are making regular cash at least.

Believe me, you will be saving yourself lots of time, effort and cash. Instead of going in 20 different directions and making nothing, you stand a better chance of profitting by FOCUSSING your interest, effort and abilities.

Hey KoryC, Welcome to the forum, as a few other people said, use the search function to avoid asking questions that have been asked a million times, we have enough "How do you make a backlink?" threads :-)

The best advice I can give you is...

TRACK EVERYTHING!!!

Either get some paid software to run on your own server (recommended) or use a free remote service.
Run Google Analytic's on every page you put up!

If you don't know where your sales are coming from, you won't know where to continue promoting.

Welcome. I am quite new around here as well. I spend most of my time with my head in information security books, worrying about data protection and tyring to make sure confidential data on hard disks is properly destroyed - which is as interesting as it sounds

Yes, it's a great forum. Lots to learn here!

I recommend starting to learn IM for free, on Squidoo or something like that, to get the basic understandings and some success. Then learn more, get your own site(s), and learn a bunch of different methods.

Other people are making money in IM, so you can too!
