I've used WP theme generators in the past but I don't remember their names. Basically, for a very simple layout they work but for more complex designs, it's a disaster. I haven't tried the frameworks (i.e. Thesis) but from what I read, they do a much better job than theme generators.

      Thanks mtip.

Not worth going for them then i guess.

You could give them a try, if you have free time but don't expect too much. I don't know if you have design skills but when I tried these generators, my idea was to use them if not for the final version of the theme, at least as a skeleton around which to build the theme but what I got was not usable even as a skeleton. One of the generators threw so much junk code that cleaning it would have taken me longer than to design the theme from scratch on my own (and I am far from a genius designer )

          Same here

I was looking at ease as well but now it looks like more trouble to me

          Thanks for the heads up

I'm using Lubith, it's a very interactive, user-friendly and dynamic theme generator. It works in the browser, you first need to make an account. It has some really great tools, like opacity, border, add/remove elements, selection ( you click on an element, drag/resize/edit it), typography (> 400 web-safe fonts) etc.

    Thanks Andy.

I was curious about these theme generators.

Lubith looks quite user-friendly for a tech novice like me.

However, going for a framework or a custom built looks like a better option.
