      Hi Jeff,

What I do is check out relevant blog categories on Technorati for example. Quick and easy way, I hope this helps.

Besides doing keyword research to see what would attract the most organic traffic from search engine sources, you should also ask the following questions:

-What do my readers want to know?
-What do I know that most other people do not know?

They should spark some interesting ideas that would be easier to promote.

I read a lot of blogs in my niche to keep up on trends and news. I also read magazines in my niche or at least browse magazine covers to see what people are talking about. StumbleUpon also works great! Set up your account and start by liking pages in your niche and you'll start getting related sites when you stumble.

I also read emails and comments from readers. Since it is your readers you are writing for, they are the perfect people to ask for ideas!

    - Perhaps you could visit some other blogs and get some ideas that way.

    - Ask your current readers what they would like you to cover.

    - Brainstorm and create a mind map.

How I decide on a title for a blog post?
    1. Sometimes I just outsource and give them the niche, and let the contractor create an article on any topic
    2. I will investigate my competitions posts
    3. I use keyword tools: titles for blogs should be targetted towards keywords that generate traffic
    4. I often write a post in an effort to promote an affiliate product, therefore the product I'm trying to sell is how I determine the most appropriate title.
    5. A great source is a book related to your websites niche, I get a lot of ideas that way.
    6. I scan the titles of all my current posts, often this causes me to think of a new article topic.
    7. The best way: Google your niche/keywords for topic ideas for your blog post.

    1) You could use Clickbank. It's easy to find unique hot niche with CB
    2) Buy Niche Market Research WSOs. There's a lot of Warriors that has done the niche research for others

Hey Jeff - i'm no SEO expert but it's useful to check out the Google Keyword tool.

You'll have an idea of your title from the content of the post and the next step would be to see which Keyword Phrases would be the best to try and rank for.

Longer tail keywords in your blog title will see you ranking easier because there may be less competition for them.

A few quick ideas for you:

    1. What's going on in this market these days? I check Google news, news outlets, and I set up Google alerts for my main keywords.

    2. Being a magazine addict helps me find lots of topic ideas. You can check mags online. (Not only the major ones, but also the local ones and trade mags.)

    3. Subscribe to your competitor's blog and email list.

    4. Keep your eyes and ears open. What are people talking about?

    5. Ask your readers, run polls.

    6. Subscribe to major press release distributors as a journalist (or blogger).

    7. Read, watch, listen. Read forums, comments on other blogs, Amazon reviews.

    • First of all, think about what your audience needs. Use Yahoo Answers and other Q&A websites to find out what people want to know about specific topics in your niche. You can also read the most popular threads posted on niche specific forums. Do some keyword research and then write a unique article that offers clear answers to your readers' questions.

Set up Google alerts for topics relating to your blog, visit a few of your favorite blogs to see what they're talking about, take ideas out of free PLR reports and ebooks, etc. There are HUNDREDS of ways to come up with great post ideas! I know that sometimes it seems that you just have a "brain freeze" when it comes to ideas for a blog post - I have them myself on occasion

After checking your keywords and reading/commenting on your competitor's blogs, you may have several ideas bouncing around your head.

The title of your blog post is extremely important. A good title will get read...a title that is not compelling will get passed by. There are several threads that speak of choosing the best title for your post.

I like to get my creativity going by thinking hard about a variety of titles and then going for a walk, sleeping on it, or doing a mindless household task, such as washing dishes. These activities often stimulate the subconscious, which will help me come up with the best blog post idea/title.

It's what you do when no one is watching
that determines what you will be able to
      do when everyone is watching.
